When people pray, regardless of the outcome, they attribute it to god. If they get what they asked for, it's "Praise God, he heard my prayers." If they don't get what they asked for, they say, "It's just not God's will at this time." You could pray to the bottle of milk in your fridge or to your washing machine, and you would get the exact same results. According to Christians, God has three answers...yes, no, or not right now. You will get one of these answers regardless of who, or what, you pray to.

Prayer is a powerful thing. Prayer isn't about wishing or hoping for things, it's about laying your burdens, sorrows, thanks, and love upon a higher power.

I remember a time a few years ago, when I was going through a really hard time. I was in a really bad place and never thought I'd get out. I saw this sign on the side of the road that said "God listens" and I broke down right there in my car and for the first time in years prayed. In my prayer I layed all my pain and anger out for the Lord. I asked for forgiveness for my anger and stupidity, for love and compassion, and for a break from the storm I was in. A couple of days later I got a card in the mail from an old friend whom I hadn't spoken with in years. The card read "Thinking of you, my dear friend". It was a beautiful card with a very nice message of love from my friend. And it was exactly what I needed. God really did answer my prayer.

I would say that it was a coincidence, except God has answered prayers like this for me so many times that it most definately is NOT coincidence.

When i was a child in a Baptist church.
I knew a friend in grammer school who was struck and drug by a car.
He layed in a coma for 6 months.
I remember his parents coming to prayer metin one night in a last hope try to help him.
They had not attended church but someone told them that they needed to give it to the Lord.
I remember the grown ups asking them to come down front, and the congrigation all gathered around and layed hand on them and the paster asked , lord if it be thy will, heal this boy who lays in a coma.
The next day the boy awoke...It was the first time i saw prayer answered. Ive seen it happen since. Prayer is the most powerful tool on earth.

Well, let's see .... when all the doctors said no to my having children ... I prayed, and I had 3 babies and now have 8 grandchildren...

Once I was stuck in the middle of no where, in the middle of the night, in my car with a sick baby that was burning up with fever ...I prayed that the fever would break ... the fever broke instantly under my hand and I had to change the babies clothes that were soaking wet because her fever broke..

Prayed for a good husband, have had one for almost 47 years, great husband, lover, father, grandfather, provider, etc.

Once we were on the verge of losing our home, prayed for money got $10,000, exactly what I needed to take care of business ....

Prayed for custody of an abused grand daughter. I was on the way to losing the case until a social worker spotted my file remembered who I was (almost 4 years later) and went to bat for me in court without my even knowing ... when we got to court, we didn't even have to have a hearing they just handed her over to me.... I got her right there and then....

My son had hepatitis when he was 6 years old, the doctor said it was the bad kind, that we just had to wait and see... we prayed, he is alive to this day... has had no medical problems because of it . Some one told me that usually when you have this type of hepatitis you don't live past 20 years ... he is almost 40

Asked God for this house and got it ...after almost 5 months of trying and other people ahead of me trying to get it...

I pray for everything...

once I didn't have enough money to put gas in my gas tank and a lady knocking on my door and gave me $20. She said that she was a Catholic that had attended a Baptist Church and while she was praying some one placed the money in her hand so, she figured that after church was over that she was going out for burgers with her kids but she heard a voice tell her "no, deliver this money to your little girl friend's mother" so she came to deliver it..

Another time we lived out in the country and were really going through hard times even with my husband working.... we didn't have any Christmas decorations or anything... I prayed for decorations .. when my husband went to the dump to throw the trash... he noticed a box on the side of the entrance so, on the way out he thought he would look in it and he found Christmas lights... enough to go on every front window of our trailer and enough to go all around the trailer... and the little tree we cut down in our yard...

I could write a book on answered prayer.. please note that sometimes God says no, and sometimes he says wait... perhaps he said no to the others that don't believe in prayer and they cannot take "no" for an answer.? So I guess for them then, it doesn't work.. I t works for my family... one of my daughters prays for the sick and most recover....

Yes prayer does work.My whole life is like a huge miracle and if i tell you everything it will take 30 to 50 mins.Anyways,God has done wonders in my life.Girl i cant tell you how great God is.And all those people who are saying"no"is cause they dont have their faith in God.I have been through a VERY VERY AND VERY tough life and i still kinda am.Life has been very unfair to me but now i realize that it's all God's plan and sometimes we may think that God is picking on us or ignoring us,but he really loves us and has planned something GREAT for us.I didnt used to believe in God and used to tell him that how selfish he is and he doesnt love me.Than one day God he send someone to tell me that he really loves me and cares about me(Thats another story though)Since that day on i have been praying and keeping my faith in God and i cant tell you what all God has doen for me in the future. He will give me such an amazing husband that will love me alot because God knows that no one has ever loved me.He will also give me awesome kids and so i will have a very furtunate family in the future.Theres alot i can tell you but in short cut all i will say is that"GOD IS GREAT"!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can try and pray by all means. But be prepared that you might not get your wish or magic change of your life. Sometimes I even think we are born with fate, just have to try to make well thought out choices. It is from my experience only that I can tell you this.

I am Christian. I needed a car. My wife and I prayed for a car. My wife visited a friends church and the pastor asked her if she need a car. A man had donated the car to the church and the church didn't need it. The pastor gave it to us. In the car, there was a envelope that contained money for title and tags. A coincidence? I think not. God gave us more than we prayed for.

Praying knows no religion. One of the best healing methods is letting out what hurts your through speaking of it...and if it is in prayer or in analytical chair so be it.

nah, children are still starving around the world. I dont see any progress. few months ago I stopped praying and things are getting better for me and my friends. I wish, I dont pray. I wish all the time, I eat, I run and I keep thinking and wishing for my friends to be better. and they are :]

people only pray just few minutes per day and its not helpful, while I wish for hours, for the whole day and things are better for me now.

yes, yes, yes. The definition of prayer is that you humble yourself before God and acknowledge him. The Lord Jesus Christ taught a lot about prayer check it up in the new testament,
