Global warming? do you understand what this term means?? Basically its true and there is something we can do to slow it down but prevent it seems impossible. Last year the heat wave in Europe was around 40C but this year it went up to 48C so how can you doubt whether global warming is true or not? can you not feel it?? Its almost December but the weather is still warm and humid in most 4 season countries

I feel its true becuase the wheather is more crazy, more out of pattern and its no wander because we keep clearing the land like crazy. Without the trees ang vegitation to help cool the land, the bare sun heats vast areas of cleared land witch in turn forces moisture away thus effecting the wheather patterns, pushing rain clouds away.
You only have to take a look around you, no bush or trees any more to help shade, just masses of suburban rooftops and concrete that heats up in the sun. Without all th trees and forrests that put back oxygen into the air also changes the climate. When you look at the huge cleared farming and rual arears , and what nateral bush is left, you can tell if it was not all cleared away there would still be huge lots of trees and shrubs. Now that these arears have been cleared rain is far and few between showers , causeing drought.

The hottest year on record is 1934.

The planet was in a cooling cycle from the 40's to the late 70's. That's documented facts.

It's been on a warming period since then.

Scientists believe we may reach higher temperatures before it cools off again. Of course, no one knows for sure. The climate models they use are constantly proven wrong.

It's easiest to understand by following the money. There's no money in telling the truth about natural cycles of the planet. So scientists have learned that they can get lots of grant money by continuing to study "global warming" or "climate change" or whatever and by blaming it on humans they can demand higher taxes on all activities.

It's the perfect socialist catch-all. Any changes in the climate can be blamed on humans and the ignorant will believe it. They seem to forget that it always gets hot in the summer, and like I said, the hottest was in the 30's, so don't worry. We can get a lot hotter before it gets to where Greenland is able to grow crops again, like it was thousands of years ago.

I just love the answers to these questions. All the weather and climate experts shouting GW. How many weather and climate people can tell what the weather will be like in 24 hours....answer = none. It is impossible to include all the variables, like an increase in co2 will increase plant growth or how much the oceans will absorb co2. The truth is they dont know... but there is lots of grant money and paid jobs for scare mongering. Remember yk2 or whatever it was .Every computer was going to fail and the world was coming to an end at the stroke of midnight 2000.....Computer companys made a fortune for scaring everybody. As did the building companys that built fallout shelters in the 50's below peoples houses. The list goes on and on. The historical facts show the earth heats up and cools down ,with or without man....the only thing now is people can make money from it...

I agree w/ ken, but to the point, global warming is a little misleading, the preferred term is climate change b/c some places could be cooling or almost unaffected as a result of increased CO2, though overall the past decade has the hottest years on record. The reason people want to fight it is because it will mess with our planet's equilibrium, cause some arid places to become even dryer deserts (including parts of the US) and create a survival crisis for many animals and plants which we view as important. Beyond global warming, we should become aware of the consequences of deforestation, pollution, etc. so that people living after us don't miss out on the Earth we know because of our waste.

Of course it is true. We have scientific proof that our polar ice caps have been melting much more rapidly in the past few decades. Do the research and you will see the evidence for yourself. Many people are in denial about global warming and want others to believe it is untrue because there is too much profit to be made through pollouting. In order to stop the damage we would have to stop living the way we do. Many North Americans are way too comfortable living the consumer's lifestyle, and don't want to give up their selfish way of life so our children can grow up in a healthy environment. Don't listen to what other's say, simply look at the facts and statistics.

Yes it is!Can you feel the temperature outside your home increase?Global warming is real and caused by some condistions such as " glass house effect". The sun rays are sent to the world and some of them are sent again to atmosphere.Human in the world produce some bad gases from industries, car ,hair spray, parfum etc.such as CO, CO2 etc. this gases are very danger for human living. They stay on atmosphere as like an umbrella cover the earth and as the result the sun rays what were sent to atmosphere were sent back to the earth so tha`s why the temperature increase from time to time. The bad gases only can distroye ozon layer. When ozon layer distroyed the dangereous rays such X-rays will shoot the earth without protectection and the bad result is the end for earth living.

Not True.

Although I DO believe the environment is very important, and am a strong advocate for making the earth a cleaner healthier place, I DO NOT believe that global warming is caused Purely by human activities.

First of all, the earth goes through CYCLES! It's reached scorching temperatures, and frozen over several times. We could be going through another cycle which might eventually lead to another ice age in several thousands of years, but it's TOO EARLY to tell yet.

If you simply look at those graphs at Al Gore has been showing, you might notice that he's just making a THEORETICAL assumption of the exponential growth of the graph (of CO2 in the atmoshphere). It could be slowly sloping up, but it's a trend that goes up and down, and so it doesn't make any sense to conclude that it will only keep going up.

Finally, I just want to say that most of the harmful chemcials are produced by large manufacturers and industries and that THEY are the ones who should be forced to change their ways.

It probably is happening for at least natural reasons, however, what you have seen is probably more likely related to known oscillations such as El Nino. You wouldn't have seen global warming since even its anthropogenic advocates (those who think man is the cause) say the last century has only brought an average temperature change of 1.1 degrees Fahrenheit over the last century.

As said by John Coleman (The founder of the Weather Channel)

"It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create an illusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the “research” to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus.

Environmental extremists, notable politicians among them, then teamed up with movie, media and other liberal, environmentalist journalists to create this wild “scientific” scenario of the civilization threatening environmental consequences from Global Warming unless we adhere to their radical agenda. Now their ridiculous manipulated science has been accepted as fact and become a cornerstone issue for CNN, CBS, NBC, the Democratic Political Party, the Governor of California, school teachers and, in many cases, well informed but very gullible environmentally conscientious citizens. Only one reporter at ABC has been allowed to counter the Global Warming frenzy with one 15 minute documentary segment.

I do not oppose environmentalism. I do not oppose the political positions of either party. However, Global Warming, i.e. Climate Change, is not about environmentalism or politics. It is not a religion. It is not something you “believe in.” It is science; the science of meteorology. This is my field of life-long expertise. And I am telling you Global Warming is a non-event, a manufactured crisis and a total scam. I say this knowing you probably won’t believe a me, a mere TV weatherman, challenging a Nobel Prize, Academy Award and Emmy Award winning former Vice President of United States. So be it.

I have read dozens of scientific papers. I have talked with numerous scientists. I have studied. I have thought about it. I know I am correct. There is no run away climate change. The impact of humans on climate is not catastrophic. Our planet is not in peril. I am incensed by the incredible media glamour, the politically correct silliness and rude dismissal of counter arguments by the high priest of Global Warming.

In time, a decade or two, the outrageous scam will be obvious. As the temperature rises, polar ice cap melting, coastal flooding and super storm pattern all fail to occur as predicted everyone will come to realize we have been duped. The sky is not falling. And, natural cycles and drifts in climate are as much if not more responsible for any climate changes underway. I strongly believe that the next twenty years are equally as likely to see a cooling trend as they are to see a warming trend."
