try not to be too girly...i mean, of course, unless he LIKES girly...you kno? have you ever watched the episode of "Hannah Montana" where Lily likes the skater boy, then she turns all girly, and he stands her up? Watch it if you haven't...lol.

If you have an interest in skate boarding it might help. that way you both have something in common you could talk about and break the ice.
