I seem to have herringbone interference when I connect my pc to my tv to watch video files. I've done a lot of searching but not come up with a solution.

My set up is an s-video lead which is plugged into an s-video -> SCART converter, which plugs into the back of my tv in the SCART socket.

What's a likely solution to this? Perhaps a more expensive s-video lead? Perhaps the interference could come from the pc itself? I have tried it with nothing else connected to the tv and still had the same problem.

Oh dear, I've also noticed more herringbone interference when I watch RGB SCART from my dvd player or pvr. I only connect one thing to my tv at a time though, so maybe my tv is the problem?

Some S-video cables do not connect ground on both sides. That means ground floats and you get noise.
The only way to check it is with a continuity tester, check if the ground (outside of the connector) is actually connected on both sides.

I would try a different brand cable. Unfortunately more expensive cables does not guarantee the cable will be correct. Sometimes the cheapest ones are better!!
