Hi there

if you will be in the south mainly, then average clothes -- and a jacket to layer or for rain/snow

if you will be further north, then get a jacket

the easiest thing to do might be to pack your regular clothes, then buy a winter jacket at a second hand shop or discount store when you are here and leave it behind when you leave

you should be okay with running shoes and a pair of warm socks, but same advice if you run into snow or really cold temps -- then buy a pair of warm boots, and leave behind.

mitts and gloves and scarves are not expensive at all -- check a large grocery store or a 'dollar store' for the best prices - you should not have to pay more than $10 and usually much less

keep in mind that altitude changes the climate - even parts of New Mexico and Grand Canyon, which are relatively south can get snow and cold temps

hope this helps!

If you are going to New York or anywhere in the Northeast (including Conneticut, New Jersey,Maryland etc.) You should pack long sleeves, turtlenecks, sweaters, a coat, jeans and any warm pants you can find and leggings. Also pack t-shirts so you can layer yourself and out under your sweater. Bring thick socks, gloves, warm bedroom slippers, sneakers,or boots.

Things to pack for WHERE-EVER you're going in the U.S. of A. right now: 1) A good coat that's both warm AND water-proof and the same in gloves too. 2) Long-John's(thermal underwear) and calf-length socks. 3) Some good hiking boots that are both fashionable AND water-proof AND breathable(I myself would go with some from Magnum or U.S. Cavalry). 4) Chap stick with aloe vera/sun screen. 5) A decent lotion for dry skin and a good hair conditioner to help with the cold weather for your hair. 6) For anything else, call the folks whom you'll be staying with here in the states to get a good idea.
