i've been to the doctor b4 and he gave me some pills and some creams which didnt work and i think teh next step is accutane and i was just wondering if u had to take a bblood test when u get it

Yeah most doctors make you get one at least the first time you go to see them and this is to make sure that your liver can hold up to the stress that accutane will put on it... It is also for this reason that doctors also tell you not to consume alcohol while on the medication because of possible liver failure. So yes you have to get blood tests when you get it.

Your Doc should perform a routine Blood Test before prescribing Accutane or ro-accutane. This as suggested is to check that your body is capable of using this medication, He/She should then carry out regular blood tests to check how your body is reacting to the medication.

In women a pregnancy test.
In all is advisable to get a general health profile to check liver function.
And also get a baseline lipid profile (Cholesterol,LDH HDL)
to check that Accutane does not increase these too much.

But ask your own doctor for your particular case.

If you take it 6 months or more you should have blood tests to check liver.

Yes, you get regular blood work. I think they are checking your liver because it could affect it.
