There is nothing to forgive.
Your feelings/emotions are your own creation and therefore your own responsibility.

Jesus said to forgive over and over. Forgiveness does not mean that you have to be friends again or hang out with them. Forgiveness is not for them but for you, to let go of hurtful bitterness. Bitterness will make you ill and hold you back from getting the best out of life. Unforgiveness hurts you, not the person who did the hurting - unless they are asking for forgiveness, then it's an easy decision to forgive, for both your sakes.

As a Christian, I know that forgiveness is not easy but it's not something you feel and then do. It's a choice. You choose to forgive, you pray a prayer of forgiveness even though you don't feel like it. You may have to do it a couple of times, if you feel like it. In time, the feelings of bitterness towards your friend will fade and you will be at peace.

For whatever reason you try to forgive someone , you do not forget. We can only keep trying to forgive but it would help if the hurtful Friend were to seek forgiveness and express their regret with a desire to make recompense. If The Friend keeps renewing his Hurting on a regular basis and a whim, then it is pointless to try and Love or forgive. He has to be made ineffective in his wicked attempts to harm or threaten others before all else.

Whenever we miss the mark by disobeying one of God's commands, we sin against Him. Whenever we wrong another person, we not only sin against them, but also against God. When we take a look at the enormity of God's mercy to forgive us of ALL of our transgressions, we realize that we do not have the right to withhold this grace from others. We have sinned against God infinitely more than any person can sin against us. If God forgives us of so much, how can we refuse to forgive others for so little? Jesus’ parable in Matthew 18:23-35 is a powerful illustration of this truth. God promises that when we come to Him asking for forgiveness, He freely grants it (1 John 1:9). The forgiveness we extend should know no bounds, in the same way that God's forgiveness is limitless (Luke 17:3-4).

I believe in Karma so I know they will get their punishment one way or another so i can forgive them for that, and can forgive people that are sorry for their actions.

The guy who robbed me at knife point i can never forgive because the only thing he is sorry for is that he got caught, to me i wish 2 things on him, he gets put in a prison or wiped of the face of the earth, i dont need justice in the sense of that he needs to serve time in prison, i want him to never be able to put anyone through what i had to go through ever again!!! you cant forgive people like that and you shouldnt need to, most of those people are never sorry for their actions, until he is i wont forgive him!!!

But forgive some that is sorry, if you dont then really makes you no better. forgiving some that is sorry is easy, trusting them will be harder!!! tell that to them.

I don't think there's anything specific about forgiving in my religion... we're all expected to know how to act without a bunch of doctrines telling us what is right and wrong. However I'd imagine that they're gotten what they asked for via karma, so forgiving is good.

Jesus died on the cross for sins he didn’t commit, and yet while he was going through extreme agony, Jesus said in Luke 23, “father forgive them for the do not know what they are doing.” It is important to recognize that we all need forgiven, and when we refuse to forgive we are blocking God from forgiving us. I personally feel that unforgiveness is like cancer eating away at a person life, so I would urge everyone to just let it go. Let God be the final judge, and not us.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you obey Jesus and lay it down; move on. "Forgive and forget" is not in the Bible. You must forgive and be able to move on for your own sake. It's a command of God's for the health of our own souls.
Sorry you were hurt. Don't let it poison your life.

We have to know that Jesus forgave us all in the first place, and we should forgive others, don't mean anything about right or wrong, you are letting it go, and letting God, putting an end to it, and starting new, How can we ever be forgiven if we cannot forgive each other.

hmm... the closest thing in my religion relating to forgiveness is karma/three-fold-rule/whatever.

If i dont forgive someone, I wont be forgiven.

there are a few people who i have not forgiven for specific things, but i feel these to be justified. if i had done thoes actions to someone elce i would not expect forgiveness.

as for a friend who's hurt me? get over it. people have a lot going on in their life and usuly dont mean to hurt you. if they did mean it at the time, do they still mean to now? chances are they dont want to harm you. people hurt people because they first were hurting, or so i believe.

It says I must forgive whether I'm the innocent party or not.
