first off, i'm an atheist and i will be an atheist forever, based on my present convictions.

you must have noticed that there are "crazy" people here. both atheist and theist alike. but when you actually talk to them, and especially if the topic is not about religion, most of them i've talked to are actually pretty nice people. even the "crazy" ones out here...

your thoughts?(and religion if you have one)

I do not bash anyone's beliefs.
In real life it is better not to discuss about God with friends who do not belive in God.
I have several atheist friends. We do not discuss about faith that much.

Bashing anyone or their beliefs is totally contrary to Christian teaching, according to Scripture, and so I refuse to participate in it for any reason on any issue. There are wonderful, sincere, nice people in many belief (or non-belief, if you will) systems (I can't vouch for all simply because I haven't met people of *all* beliefs). Perhaps we don't agree on issues of faith, but there may be many ideas that we *do* agree on. I am distressed to see the hostility between groups in the R&S section, and hope that we can agree to disagree pleasantly and respectfully. I worked for an atheist, who was among the best managers that I ever had. We had an ideal working relationship and mutual respect. We still have great rapport and pleasant interactions, even though I don't work for his company any longer.

I think the craziness is from those who have evolved out of silly religions that require belief that try to tell others about it, and the stubbornness that ensues is where we differ

I don't bash anyway. But yes, it's hard to argue with someone on religion and politics once your are on friendly terms with them.

I try not to bash. I will give my opinion. But it is just that. My opinion.
I will not say you are stupid for believing god,
But I will say I think that the belief in god is silly.

Religion makes normally "normal" people completely crazy and irrational. Fortunately, it doesnt affect me that way, normally speaking.

I don't. I'm a Christian and I don't ask questions like that.
