The tuner should work.
But for better quality get the cable

Can you provide a Model number?
Most PC Tuners DO NOT support Satellite reception without a set-top box (which defeats of course the purpose of getting a tuner).

As long as you have the box and you have HD tuner, then yes you can get it. But, I had Dish Network and now have Direct TV and go with Direct TV. Such a superior picture and morw HD channels also.
