If I were a Christian I certainly would. You might learn a great deal and discover a world more wonderful than you ever knew - a world produced by accident and chance. And you may learn to live calmly and courageously with uncertainty. Of course, as George Bernard Shaw remarked, "when you learn something it often feels a though you've lost something". But that's how we learn the price is worth paying. Would you prefer to live forever in a box?

My Christianity is integral to who I am, and so I wouldn't think that I would have much in common with an atheist for a long-term relationship. I think that it is neither wise nor kind to try to change another person to make them more compatible with my own belief system, particularly when I knew from the beginning that their beliefs were the polar opposite of mine. I wouldn't want them to try to change my beliefs, either. I just cannot see that it could work long-term,and so I see no point in wasting their time or mine by dating.

Hmmmm, no I wouldn't. However, my husband dated me knowing full well I was a practicing pagan (at the time). He was a Christian--a preacher's son. Yes we have great chemistry and are still very much in love (its been 10 years!) and I am now Christian. I guess it depends on the person.

No, and this is why. The Bible says this....
2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
We should be very careful who we date and marry. It can become a major problem in relationships. God knows all things and sees the future.
I married a believer, but he does not live a Christian life. So there is even a difference in our level of Belief system. This can also apply to this verse.

Yes, as long as the atheist was comfortable with me being religious and respected my faith as I would respect his right to not believe in a deity.

I'm an Atheist and my girlfriend is a Christian.
Things aren't rosy between us, though, although differences of faith aren't really the problem, I think.
