I live on the border too, and work at a hospital and I know how difficult and sensitive these illegal immigration issues are - so I can definitely sympathize with your plight - I think in this case, I would talk to the pastor or other church elders and see what they say - give them the benefit of the doubt, they may have a perfectly plausible explanation - then after you've heard their side of the story - pray, pray, pray - ask God to guide you with His divine wisdom into making the right decision.
I know He will help you, and I'll pray for you too!

A lot of churches support illegals with money, food and living accommodation. This is often done here in UK on the basis that they claim to be persecuted Christians. When I found out that this was untrue for many of them, and that the church leader knew that he was acting against the law, I left that church.

Legally, it is wrong. Therefore...it is wrong. It really has nothing to do with religion in my point of view. Are they using the offering to line their pockets or to help the church pay the electric bill...or to help feed the poor, etc??? Don't feel bad. I would wonder too.

If you are a memb3er of the church who tithes, then I think you have a right to know where the money is going.

In Luke 20:19-26, we see: 19The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people. Paying Taxes to Caesar 20Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be honest. They hoped to catch Jesus in something he said so that they might hand him over to the power and authority of the governor. 21So the spies questioned him: "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. 22Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?" 23He saw through their duplicity and said to them, 24"Show me a denarius. Whose portrait and inscription are on it?" 25"Caesar's," they replied. He said to them, "Then give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."26They were unable to trap him in what he had said there in public. And astonished by his answer, they became silent.

If you are a Christian, as cliche as it sounds, ask "What would Jesus do?"
Would he ignore the needs of people because of an unjust law?
Jesus broke the law of his land when it came to helping people in need.
He probably would have invited himself over to dinner. that seems to be his pattern.
