Hello, I gave my dog (toy poodle) the bio spot flea treatment this morning. After almost 10 hours my dog is still really itchy and can't sit still. She is rolling around and is just really miserble. If she lays down it is just for a second before her body jerks (looks like the fleas bite her) and she gets up again. It looks like she has the need to move... I feel really bad for her, she is so restless and penting much more from moving around so much. Is she ok or are those side effects of the treatment? What could I do about it? Thank you all for your help.

Call your vet! She is having a bad reaction to the Bio Spot. Over the counter flea treatments can be very dangerous to many small dogs and cats.

I had a dog that was allergic to the flea bites themselves.Something to do w/ the fleas saliva or something. Anyway, the best treatment I know of is called Spot Shot. It comes in a little tube and you rub it into your pets fur. We got it from out vet. If you dont want to go that route, I suggest the ultrasonic method. This little device plugs into a power outlet and emmits an oltrahigh frequency above your pets hearing. Ask your vet for details. Good luck.

Bio Spot doesn`t have a great review in my opinion, in fact no over the counter flea control product does. Give the Poodle a bath in dawn dish soap and wait 2 weeks and get some Frontline flea control. You can get it from a vet or online or ask for it from your pet store, they have it under lock and key. 3 months worth for $30-$35.00 and it`s well worth the money.
The Bio Spot just agitated the fleas and their agitating your dog.

Sounds like your dog is allergic to this flea product. Bathe your dog immediately. If her behavior does not improve I would get her vet checked. For flea products I would stick with the brands that vets sell. You can buy these same products through pet stores online at a cheaper price then what the vet office sells the same product for.

Call your vet, she sounds like she is having a reaction to the flea product. It is not normal side effects of the treatment and she really needs to see a vet.

Call the vet, as she is having a reaction to the flea medicine.
Did you make sure to give her the correct dosage? Made sure you bought flea medicine for the right size dog?
There shouldn't be any reaction of any kind when you apply flea prevention.

Bio-spot is not a good or safe flea product to use. You need to give her a bath and get any remaining residue off her..you also need to call your vet. OTC flea products can cause seriosu skin irritations, skin burns, neurological issues, seizures and even death.

Oh - my - God. Wash it off QUICK! Biospot is very dangerous stuff and it certainly sounds like your dog is having a reaction.

WASH IT OFF and if your dog continues like this or gets any worse, get him to a vets pronto. Get some proper flea treatment like Frontline, you can use this 2 days after washing.
