No.

The only breeds of dogs that don't bark are basenjis and new guinea singing dogs. They don't bark, but they yodel, which is a god awful sound thats worse than barking.

Some individuals are less barky than others, so adopting an adult dog from a rescue would be a good way to get a dog that as not an excessive barker

Well, basenjis don't bark....but they can moo like a cow, or sound like a tornado siren going off. And I definitely wouldn't consider them to be calm. They're sight hounds, and they love to run. I tell people who ask about mine...."A loose one is a gone one." He's a great dog, but they're a bit different. I really think anyone considering one should spend some time with one and see what they're really like before they get one. But I guess that's the way it is with most dogs, huh??

you can train any dog not to bark just some are harder then others. the only reasons little dogs bark is because their owners don't care cuz its quiet and high pitched. the reason people's big dog's often don't bark is because its loud and deep and annoying so they train their dogs not to bark. hope this helps! :-)

No. All dogs vocalize, and small dogs are worse about it than larger dogs. The only way to know if a little dog will yap or not is to get an adult with a known behavior pattern.

I used to have a toy poodle that never barked. Yes, toy poodle IS a real breed. I'm not sure if all of them are that calm, but that one never even growled.
