i work w/ a lot of guys who always talk about "hott" girls in front of me. what should i do when this happens? i just wanna be a part of the group w/o looking like a lezbo.

Not to be cliche and give the typical answer of "because they're guys", but that IS it. They're guys. I know that when I'm with my girls we talk about hot guys.
I have a guy friend, and we have been best friends for 11 years now. He is always talking about hot girls, sex, etc..basically guy talk. I don't mind it at all, I talk about guys with him as well, lol. But it's mainly because we are talking one on one.
You never see a group of guys when there is a group of girls in the conversation talking about hot girls, that's just weird. But if you're the only girl amongst guys, then they WILL talk about guys stuff.
This isn't an issue about guys talking about girls in front of girls. It's simply a matter of being outnumbered. If me and my friends are with a group of guys, we certainly aren't gonna talk about hott guys in front of them, i mean come on...we already got some guys in front of us! lol

There could be up to two different things why...
1.They may really like you and they want to see how you react when a boy talks about how fly another girl is. This maybe a way that there trying to get your attention
2. They may feel that you don't have enough confidence in yourself about how beautiful you are. If you have that swagger in you to show that your beautiful and your the #1 than these types of conversations won't occur as much

We think different than girls talking about hot girls is like talking about anything else for that matter, its normal for a bloke. All men do it. Adding comments such as "she is ok" shouldn't make you sound like a lesbian. (that is if you know what girl the guys are talking about) If they are discussing girls they were perving at, at the pub the night before, just join the conversation, give your input if you think the girl they are talking about was good looking or not. There is nothing wrong with girls talking about other girls, in fact, most guys ( if not all ) enjoy listing to a woman talking about other girls. Good luck.

Despite "Scholarly Pursuits" idiotic and sophomoric answer, let me point out to you that men hardly have a corner on the market when it comes to publicly obnoxious behaviour. In that wide market, women merely deal in different merchandise... yet, every bit as toxic and boorish. Your fears of appearing to be a "lezbo" have more to do with your own insecurities than with your co-workers childish conversations. Bye the way, you do know how to ignore them...yes?

Guys are stupid, you'll have to get them talking about something else to be "part of the group"

Or maybe they don't know it bothers you when they talk like they do.
We do it to by the way with our friends, in the hallways at school and other places, we talk about it because it's on our minds, and some guys do it to discourage or encourage a girl they like.
Maybe secretly this guy likes you and it's his wya of hinting to you.
I was trying to let a guy know I liked him, and it's not easy I was like thinking at the end of the night of saying "what do I have to wear a satalite dish on my head. I'm sending you major signals here".
Watch for his mannerism and how he acts, there could be code in the way he's talking.
If not, then just establish like I have that men are weird sometimes.

Yeah, actually if someone starts speculating if a guy is "packin' it" then any number of girls will jump on the conversation at any given time.

Guys do this to make themselves look "cool" try to ignore it and change the subject or if you are a bit of a comedian-imitate them and talk about a "hot" guy around them. Guys want to make you feel uncomfortable because they it makes them feel good about themselves. There's nothing much you can do about it i guarantee you a lot of girls are in the same position as you :P

Honestly some guys just do that because they have to show off their masculinity, and prove how incredibly "macho" they are. Some even try to do it just to fit in, but are thinking to themselves "man what am i doing here". The best thing you can do, i personally believe, is just ignore them. They're being complete idiots and are doing the only thing they know to be "manly". Hey who knows, i might be wrong, but i'm a guy, and i've seen it happen loads of times. It's a maturity thing.

Ignore them. Why do guys talk about hot girls in front of other girls? They just don't *think* about it. They think with another part of their anatomy and it isn't their brain. I can appreciate another woman's beauty just like I can appreciate a hot looking guy and I am definitely straight. Nothing wrong with it.
