It's a false term used in the western world simply because most semites in the western world were jews.

While Semites are all the groups you may have mentioned, there is one group in particular which has been persecuted by virtually everyone for 1000's of years and that group is the Hebrew. No-one has suferred more with respect to their
culture, religion and "race". The term anti-semitic refers almost always to those who hate or disapprove of Hebrews or Jews.
I Cr 13;8a
Satan hates the Jew especially because he knows that Messiah is of the Jew!

I choose NOT to classify you at all. Please listen to the answer to your question orginally.
Semites are: the descendants of Shem; one of the sons of Noah (Shem, Ham, Japheth); they are of a specific speaking group CALLED semites and are originally from the Near East and Northern Africa including Arabs, Arameans, Babylonians, Ethiopians, Hebrews and a few others. Sometimes only refering to: A Jew.
It is considered bigoted and racially offensive to speak or have disregard for the Jews, the Hebrews.., it is said to be: anti(against)-semitic.
Like anti-christ is: "against Christ" or against Christians.
Thre are actually NO Palestian people. The ones we call that today never had a country called Palestine, or any other country has ever been theirs. They are a group of people who have been run out of nearly every other Eastern country because of their being so violent and certain other characteristics. This is factual history and anyone can trace them and their claims. They HATE the Jews and have decided to replace them. You cannot base any of your thinking on modern new media broadcasts. Listen to actual hate speech from them.., it's all about blame, victimization, defense of terrorist actions, etc. and it's always directed toward the Jews. Land for peace will NEVER work.
Many people would classify you as anti-semetic if you do not care FOR the Jewish 'cause' of holding Israel and Jerusalem since God gave this land to the Hebrews/Israelites/Jews by covenant promise. God WILL defend it for and with them, and the nations will be judged by God for their stand "for or against" Israel's covenant rights.

I can help you with this :)
'Anti semitic' is when, for example, a man came up to me as I was walking out of synagogue and muttered 'I'd like to kill you, you f----g Jew.' This happened, and more than once, sadly.
That is anti semitism.
As for the actual term itself: it has long been used to refer to hatred for Jews.
As for you: no, I don't think you are anti semitic at all. You have a right to your beliefs.
I do wish, though, that you'd respect my right to have different beliefs.
Jesus was Jewish. He died a Jew at the hands of the Romans. He never renounced his faith. Paul, who did so much to develop and spread Christianity, never even met Jesus.
The Torah does not speak of Jesus. It was written long, long before he was born. He is never mentioned by name and the so-called 'references' to him ALL rely on the same old mistranslations of Hebrew.
EDIT FOR JOHN M
Firstly, the right term is 'anti semitic'.
Secondly: if you dislike Jews just because they ARE Jews, then you are anti semitic, and a racist. To dismiss a religious group, ANY religious group, purely because of their religion, DOES make you a racist.
Just like Hitler.

As you say semites are a race of people identifable by their blood group which is "B"
This covers the jews and the arabs as well as a large number of crossbreads "AB"
The use of the term anti-semetic shows the ignorance of the users.
Most of the anti Islam statements are in fact anti-semetic.

The term "anti-Semitic" is usually only used as being "anti-Jew", but you are correct, in theory it would mean all people of Semitic origin, including Arabs.
Being anti-Israel would not necessarily be anti-Semitic. I do not believe we should support Israel, yet I don't have anything against Jews. I object to Israel's existence for the manner in which it was created and continues to exist (that is, they ran people who legitimately lived there and took their land from them). To be anti-Semitic, you would have to be against Jews, which is not the same thing as being against Israel.

I would classify that as to long and boring and hard to understand. So according to your rule of thumb we all would be anti-semitic. It think it means you hate Jews.

you quoted a dictionary defition of semite.
here's a dictionary (same as you used) definition of anti-semitism
Date: 1882
: hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group
note that it gives 1882 as date of first use, so you might want to look into the dreyfuss case and the balfour doctrine

Well, I dislike both Jesus AND the jews, for my own enlightened reasons, so I guess that qualifies me suitably.
