I work at a beauty store (AKA sell extrantions and things for a living lol) It depends on how short your hair is. You could get short extentions, like 8 - 10 inches and it probably wouldnt look too fake. What you have to do is part your hair around the back of your head close to your ears (does that make sense?) and clip the extentions in. Or you could glue them, but thats a little more tricky. If you cant find the short ones with clips you can easily sew the clips on the extentions. That way you can take them out when you sleep and shower! But make sure you get human hair!! If its fake it wont last long at all. But if its real, human hair you can curl it, wash it, use a flat iron, even color them if they dont match perfectly!! I suggest NOT getting the jessica simpson ones, there different for some reason and unless you get the human hair ones (around $500) they wont even last a month. But dont worry, there not all that much money. The short ones at my store are only $10 and there human hair. Good luck!!

You can braid it on the top and then put it in a cute high pony! I do it ALL the time, and everyone like it! You can also get a flate iron and straighten it if you have curly hair like me. Or you can get curlers and sleep in them. Half ponys are always a good choice. Try french braiding or just regular braids. Put you hair in a pony and braid it. Wear it in low pig tails..if this isnt helping check out magazines or watch the style network or channel. Simple shows like umm Hannah Montana always show funky way to style your hair!

After washing while hair is still wet, use a gel or foam or spray and then "sprunch" your hair up all over your head. (Bend over and throw your hair over your head while you sprunch if you want more body). Then just let dry. It will give you a cute different look w/o having to perm or even roll --- easy!

oh trust me. i had this issue too many times.
headbands. headbands. and MORE HEADBANDS!

also. pull the top up.

little pigtails in the back are cute, with a headband, and pin back the shorties in the front.

when you leave it down, try hairspray, or garnier's spray and shake style for a messy look. its adorable.

short hair looks really cute if you twist it, starting from the front of your hair, part it and then twist one side back and then twist the other side back and connect them with a poney tail holder. looks really good, i always get compliments on it.

ponytails are always cuter shorter and with layers :D
i would do a half-updo
or leave it down, get some kind of bangs if you don't already have them
anything to spice it up i guess ;)
