Believing in God is a plus, but only because it can lead to seeking a good relationship with God. In the Bible, devils believed in God, but it did not do them any good, since they did not seek a good relationship with God. Seek and you shall find.

Some say religion makes you happier because you have that feeling that you are never alone and you have an afterlife. But to others that just can't believe in the concept of a God or higher power I think it does make you less happy but yet stronger. It could even have a reverse affect on you because you will want to live every day as if it were your last alive.

You don’t need religion, you need Jesus. What do you believe happens when your body dies? Did you know that dust and man share the same chemical compound? Just as the Bible states Adam was made of the dust of the earth? The soul returns to God. God will judge every one of us. I know you’re an atheist…but, what harm does it do to find out who Jesus was and what the Bible says about life after death…I know it’s easier for some of us to have faith…some of us have had experiences that tell us that there is life after death.
Many atheist state they’ve read the Bible…it’s not just about reading the Bible it’s about a personal relationship with Jesus and that can only be accomplished by confessing our sins to him …this allows the Holy Spirit to work in our lives…the stronger your relationship with the Lord the more in touch the Holy Spirit is.
If you have a Bible read the book of Ephesians it’s a short book but powerful.
I live but I should be dead and I know without a doubt it was the power of the Holy Spirit that kept me alive…my prayer life is strong and Jesus knew me when I cried out to him. The Bible teaches about those whom he knows…this means those who have a relationship with him. The Bibles states those who have and ear…we must know his voice.
If there is anything I can answer (if I can) I’ll be happy to.

Ultimately, there is no specific reason why religion was created. People believed what others told them to... word of mouth. There was nothing written down in the begining. So, if your athiest, you just don't believe what others tell you to believe about their religion. Most people go through a daily schedule without thinking about god, its normal. But, if you are thinking about pursuing a religion to take on, I would talk to a family member and see what they have to say. :)

Nobody needs religion. Religion is trash, there is only one truth. God and religion are 2 seperate things. There is someone as real as the computer screen on front of you. They can take all the pain in your life and change you inside out. I know because I've seen it and it's happened to me.
If you really want to know God, then just tell 'em, adn he'll come to you when the time is right.

You only need religion if YOU think you do. It is not necessary for a happy life or to be a good person. And the whole "after-life" thing is debatable, many different religions have many different versions of this. Religion is only necessary when you feel you need a spiritual connection with "something".

You don't need religion. You are on your own path, organized religion is just a paradigm that many fit their beliefs into.
If the presence of a God or the lack thereof does not affect your life, than that is where you are now.

I don't know if it's religion we need as much as it is a personal relationship with a savior. It's all about the love ... the grace and knowing that I'm not alone. Believing in God is COMPLETELY different than loving God. ... and resting in the fact that you have been loved with a greater, more perfect love than you could have ever imagined - since before you were born.

Something i like to tell people is to think about the fact that we are on earth. in the solar system in the universe, We are but a sandparticle in the whole picture. i dont want you to think i want you to believe in God Allah or who ever. Just think about it tonight when you are in bed.
Think of the world. We are in the solar system, in the system we have stars and Plenty of other suns and Planet systems. Then we go into the universe. where there are other solar systems and planets.
OK now look into what is on earth. We have Organisms smaller than the eye can see. then smaller than that we have Atoms and ions.
Now Without going into the religeous Bollocks. Dont you think that there is something somewhere that is bigger than us.
We might not understand it but it makes sence??

If that is the case, then you don't need it. There may come a time when you will need or have a sense of a higher power, but that does not mean that you have to go into organized religion.
