I feed her well, not cheap food, and give her treats, salmon jerky, lettuce, apple, whatever I eat.

she seems to enjoy it, and is not eating lot, just a mouthful everyday.

I take her to the vet, she was seen last week.
There is no reason for anyone to get all up in my face about this.
She is healthy, happy, active, and eats anything.
Except olives, onions and orange peels.
She especially loves balloons and rubber bands and crayons in addition to mud.
The vet doesn't know why she gobles this stuff .

Chub Chub is close to the correct answer. A dog doesnt get confused about eating some things. Mud is a natural antacid. it holds clay and minerals in it. Mud can ease stomach acid and upset. It also can help aid in digestion. Many animals eat small quantities of dirt, mud, and sand to help them digest things or to counteract toxic diets. She may just plain and simple like the taste of it.
- If she isnt eating ALOT of it like cups and cups and just a mouthful here and there.
- Her bowel movements are normal and she is not constipated
- and she is not acting ill

then there is nothing to worry about. If you happen to notice one or all of the above mentioned then take her soon to a vet and see what could be the cause of her need for mud.

I am not a vet but I have enough experiance and some common knowledge that the dog is NOT dying, nor is dire need of a vet because it at a mouthful of dirt. Her description doesnt spring a red flag, and doesnt warrent seeing a vet if its not excessive. A dog eating dirt IS NORMAL. Its not un common and if you own a dog yourself chances are your fluffy puppy ate dirt today and a few other unsavory things while out of your sight in the yard. Hope those puppy kisses were worth it today!!

Dogs go senile just like people.

She could be "confused".

See a vet.
It could also be:
Organ malfunction/failure
Infection
Cancer.

Blood tests and an urine analysis is a (relatively) cheap way to get an overview of your pet's health.

You need to get your "old dog" to the vet! That is not normal and she has a right to proper medical care by law. To deny it is abuse and you have let this go on for a YEAR?! Stop asking unqualified strangers on the internet who have never even seen your dog, let alone examined her, and TAKE HER TO THE VET!
