The last day to file forms is October 15th. But you must file for an extension to this day by April 15th and then again by August 15th. If however, you owe money, you will be penalized if you do not pay what you owe by April 15th no matter if you've filed for an extension or not.

You are required to send the forms no later than April 15th if it is a business day or the first business day after April 15 if April 15th is a holiday or a weekend. You can send them later, but there may be a penalty (if you owe) and your refund will be delayed (if you are entitled to a refund).

If you have a refund coming or owe nothing you have 3 years. If you owe money then the deadline is April 15 or the first business day after.

The day after you die.

You are required to file no matter if it is late or not.

And businesses/corporations/partnerships have different dates.

If you are owed a refund, you can file your taxes for the past 3 years. If you owe, I am so sorry.

There is no last day to file your return.
But every year you should file your tax return by April 15th.
