You need to read Bede a little closer. The Catholic Church did not kill anyone.
Augustine tried several times to reconcile the preachers of a different Gospel who "did many other things which were opposed to the unity of the church."
King Ethelfrid (or Æthelfrith, was King of Bernicia from c. 593 until c. 616) and his army defeated an opposing army and killed the 1,200 priests who came to pray for the defeat of Ethelfrid and his "barbarians".
"For afterwards the warlike king of the English, Ethelfrid, of whom we have spoken, having raised a mighty army, made a very great slaughter of that heretical nation, at the city of Legions, (Chester)."
Read it for yourself: http://www.ccel.org/ccel/bede/history.v.ii.ii.html
I am not justifying the killing of anyone but I am saying that the Catholic Church did not do the deed.
With love in Christ.

The catholic religion is full of secrets that they would like to keep under the covers. I don't doubt your assertion I just would like to know more about when this happened. I've heard about a pre-reformation revival going on in Italy that was completly martyered and slaughtered by Rome so I don't doubt at all if there's anything similar in pre-reformation England. BTW I also believe in what is the truth of the matter in all things.

I'm sure at some point you're actually going to include details to these questions so we have a clue what you're talking about as well as put down any suspicions that you're just making stuff up.

lets see, is this able to be proven by impartial sources or are you just spurting rumours from people with an agenda?
are you going to scrutinize what protestants have done to catholics aswell or do you have an agenda? are you going to put all this in context and in light of the period in question?
