Depends....

There are two versions of DVI, DVI analog (more like VGA) and DVI digital.
If your monitor supports DVI digital and HDCP (copy protection), then yes you can use a DVI-to-HDMI cable.
Check your monitor's specs.

DVI and VGA are "old school" "digital" connections on the newer electronics. they are both increasingly hard to find on new stuff. you will find mostly HDMI and COMPONENT video

I personnaly have never liked the quality of using an HDMI to DVI.....seems abit pixalated

Something I learned along the way is "component Video" cannot convert to HDMI( it is somewhat of a up convert)you can go from "component video" to HDMI..... but not HDMI to component video(it will play sound.not video)

Yes. You need a HDMI to DVI adapter cable, or an HDMI cable with a little adaptor on the end to convert it to DVI.

I am using a full cable ($38 from BlueJeans). You can also find budget cables from Monoprice.
