windows cannot find setup.exe?

Question

when trying to open c: drive an error message comes up that says windows cannot find setup.exe this program is needed for opening files of type 'file'
and than I have to find the location of setup.exe, anybody have any idea whats going on here? oh, we are going on windows 98.

Sounds like a virus. Get a virus scanner (AVG is a good free one) and check for any viruses or trojans. Then if that doesn't work, try reinstalling windows. (Don't format the drive, just reinstall over the copy already there.)
