you guessed it, i need some advice. i failed my first test miserably.
i'm talking my test in a small, close quartered town with short blocks with lots of intersections and big lanes, so it's hard to tell weather or not you need a lane change or not. i also need some tips on parking, it's a little less than another month away, so i need some tips that i can try and practice with.

Many people do not pass the first time, and that could be good since you may not be ready to drive alone.

When you drive you have to have someone licensed with you. Have that person tell you when you do something incorrectly. Practice makes perfect and constructive criticism will help you learn what you are doing wrong.

When you are practicing NO music, NO talking, etc. Just concentrate on the road. Talk outloud so you internalize into your short term memory the rules and skills you need.

Think back and I bet you know the areas you failed. Practice and practice and practice and don't assume you know it all. If the instructor says turn XXX and you don't have enough time, then signal, move over and turn as soon as you can, saying that you did not have enough notice. People who just turn suddenly cause more accidents than speeders.

A monkey can pass a driving test, sorry. I'm not trying to make fun, but a driving test is very easy. And there's no excuse for not acing it.

You need a little practice is all. Get someone to teach you, go out in the open and practice some things.

The testers just ask you to do things you will encounter while driving. Even if there is no need to change lanes, they are testing you on how you perform the task.

Parallel parking? practice makes perfect.

You may also find that you do much better in a particular car, some are definitely easier to drive than others.

This is one case where it's nothing but practice. You need to drive, drive, and more drive.

Take out a few barrels while practicing parallel parking.

I had to parallel park a '72 Kingswood Estate wagon, which was slightly shorter than the QE II. My 3 point turn was more like an 18 point turn the damn road was so narrow.

All your license means is that you know how to operate a motor vehicle. Says nothing about handling said motor vehicle when it tries to kill you. I heartily recommend going to 'skid school'. They're more popular now but when I was kid they only taught 'high performance driving' at a local race track.

I used to wipe out cones like a thresher taking up wheat. To this day I can feel that big Ford training car swapping ends suddenly when learning to drive on wet pavement. Scared the crap out of me. And probably saved my life more than once.

Good luck kid, and happy practicing. You will pass. It make take a few tries, but you will indeed pass.

This small comfort but I think, judging from the way you formed your statement, you have work to do.
Read the manual over and over again. Relax.
Driving is all good judgment cause and effect. You have to develop anticipation. This is critical to avoiding accidents. Stay calm in all situations. I used to drive a truck and the most mistakes are made because of over-reaction.
Get the car and go to an empty parking lot. Practice........

do no longer sweat the small stuff, my oldest daughter flunked the 1st time, too. in basic terms study some extra and pass take it back. this is like that saying in case you get thrown off that horse, in basic terms get decrease back on it and experience. give up blaming the instructor, they are in basic terms doing their activity. i'm no longer telling you this so which you will get mad, back. in basic terms make it happen, this is all as much as you? particular? stable success! now you be attentive to what you could desire to be attentive to and do, to no longer be taken care of like an fool. particular, on your question, I surpassed my try the 1st time. It helped that I took Drivers Ed classification in intense college, have been given college credit, too. i become 14 as quickly as I have been given my inexperienced persons permit and in 1973 i become waiting to stress at sixteen.

Eat bananas before as they help you think, and stop you feeling sick
Have it in your head that it's only money if you fail,
I didn't expect to pass, my knees were knocking, a kid nearly ran out on me in town, I was a wreck and recovering from witnessing a hit and run,
But I did it, 1st time with only 5 minors.
You can do it,
Think it's only money

I think you just need to go through as many test routes as possible with your driving teacher, and pack in as many lessons as possible so you can learn it all by heart. Good luck with it :-)

you sound to me like your panicking all ready, your instructor would not of put you in for your test if he didn't think you was good enough, if we give you tips they might be our bad habits, go along with your instructers instructions, that way you are not gonna go far wrong,,,good luck with the test please let us all know,,,,,
