If it is God's voice, He will never contradict His own Word.
If the voice does contradict God's Word, then it is the voice or Satan or your own delusions.

Well they don't know and that's why the illness is so frightening and they aren't just voices, but visions and smells can also be hallucinated. In addition they suffer anxiety and paranoia, conspiracy theories, magical thinking. They also lose the ability to receive or reciprocate emotions with others and can become obsessive and isolated.
The voices are accompanied by strong feelings of ecstasy or doom, convictions of having found the truth. In fact the hallucinations have a strong tendency to be religious or obscene.
Also Cannabis has a terrible effect on sufferers, it certainly makes them worse and is suspected of being a major trigger. Knowing what I know now has completely turned me against drugs and made me very sceptical about religion.

Many schizophrenics do think they are talking to someone divine.
My dad talks to angels and demons, has spoken with God (there is an invasion on the way from hell, watch your back), and has seen heaven and hell.
I'm not joking. He has schizophrenia and keeps a very detailed journal. He's asked me to make a web page out of it at one time.
At no point during any of that did he even QUESTION whether he was genuinely speaking with God or not. He believed he was.

in the history people thought that epileptic seizures are from evil. today we are smart that we see that its just a brain disorder. in the history people thought that all unbelievable things are from God and stuff, while today everyone is put to the mental hospital for claiming that God is speaking to them.
