She is probably swollen . When female dogs are in heat and are at the stage where they are able to be bred which is about 10 to 14 days after start of heat they are usually very swollen so the male will be able to penetrate her.

I very seriously doubt that any vets ever told you that spaying your dog would reduce her life by several years..if they did then they should NOT be practicing veterinary medicine. Spaying actually increases the chances of a longer life..a healthier life. The longer your dog is left intact, the more heat cycles she goes through the higher her risk of mammary cancer becomes as well as the risk of pyometria. Mammary cancer is very real and unfortunately very common. It is also not an old dog disease. It unfortunately is seen in dogs younger then 3 years of age. The prognosis is often poor. Pyometria is a very serious often fatal uterine infection.
I have dealt with these issues in intact female dogs for 35 years now..I see these preventable illnesses all to often.

Vaginal hyperplasia. It is quite common in this breed. It will normally go down once the season is finished. It can be a problem if the tissue gets traumatised or if it causes obstruction to urinary outflow. See a vet as it may need antibiotics or perhaps even suturing in place to protect it. (and to confirm the diagnosis) It would be best to get her neutered before her next season.

This sounds like a question for the vet.
