It's legal. You were speeding, you got caught, suck it up, be an adult, pay your fine, learn your lesson.

Traffic infractions are pretty much a no win situation. Most states have case law that eliminates every defense you can imagine. If you want to fight, you will probably be on your own as not many lawyers would take a case like this. However, if your husband is in danger of losing his license over this, a lawyer may be helpful to negotiate the ticket to a non-moving violation. This varies from state to state so you should call an attorney if there is a threat of losing a DL. If there is no risk to the a DL, then I would not use up this option on a first ticket. You know as well as I do there is no copy of the radar reading. The cop's testimony is all they will need to win. If you fight the ticket, the only way to win would be for the cop not to show up. Even then the court would probably grant a continuance until the cop can be there. I would plead no contest and pay up.

The police and troopers do it all the time. You have to remember that law enforcement are public servants. They make sure that people obey the law.
If your driving over the speed limit your breaking the law, thus you get a ticket.

Yes, a dah--- That is known as a speed trap. When was the last time you saw time restriction on a speed limit sign?

So in your state the speed limit is set by time : 0000-0600 as fast as you want. 0601-0800 as slow as a snail on a cold day.
0801 - 1530 below the number on this sign. 1531-1800 as slow as a snail on a cold day with many snails. 1801-2000 the number on the sign plus 9 or less. 2001-2359 the number on this sign plus 40 or less but we can tag you?

Silly isn't it .

Yes we can............ it is an old urban legend that the police must have at least parking lights on while running laser... It is not true.

Heck, we can dress in clown suites and stand by a clown car along the road.... measure your car with laser and call it in to units down the road to stop you.

We can use any method we want to catch speeders...
Its all legal.

Let me see, it's only illegal to speed if you get caught. You remind me of the lady who passed me in a no passing zone while I was driving an unmarked car. She got upset and said "well, I certainly wouldn't have passed you if I'd known you were a cop." HERE'S YOUR SIGN

This is totally legal. You shouldn't have been speeding. Grow up and take responsibility for your actions.

The police, in Ohio, must be clearly visible, with lights on, to be able to issue tickets. It is a recent law, that they must be visible.

No it isn't considered entrapment.

Entrapment means that you were coerced into doing something that you might not have done.

By hiding the officer isn't encouraging you to do anything you weren't already doing.
