As salaamu 'alaikym, my friend and sister.
Insha'Allah, yes, education is extremely important!
Following through and finishing your degree will open many doors to you in the future. Many of the doors that will be opened will allow you to work with and for the benefit of many, many others in ways that will truly make a difference in their lives and in your life. Alhumdulillah!
Teaching a person to read in any language literally opens the world to them and lays it at their feet.
Assisting a person in leanring the necessary skills so that he or she may one day provide for their family is like giving the very breath of life as it enables others to live. Alhumduliallah!
Insha'Allah, the Prophet Muhammad (sallaahu 'alaihi wasallaam) said that Iblis, the rejected, is more afraid of a scholar than of any other mortal!
Insha'Allah, knowledge is a gift from Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, one of the most precious and you, with your degree, will have the opportunity to share the gift with which you will have been blessed with others. Alhumdulillah!
Insha'Allah, if you truly wish to do something for your diin, something to help you to develop your faith to its fullest, get your degree and teach! You will be raising up all the members of the ummaah and you will rise with them! Alhumdulillah! The disollution of one's ego that allows one to selflessly serve others is Islam as you will have completely submitted your will to the Will of Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala as you follow the lived example of the Prophet Muhammad (sallaahu 'alaihi wasallaam) in giving to others with your entire being. Alhumdulillah!
Is your degree important? Insha'Allah, yes, my friend, yes, indeed.
May Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, guide each day of your life. May He, in His Mercy and Compassion, fill you with such hope and joy of life that the same fills those around you. May He bless you with courage, strenghth and patience so that you will persevere. You are in my prayers.
As salaamu 'alaikym warahmatullahi wabaraktuh, my sister and my friend.
Ma'a salaam.

Many of us point out that education is very important. So for me education is very important because we could ever be a successful person in the future if we cant have an education. Education give us a knowledge about everything. But it takes a lot of sacrifices before you reach the finish line of study. Taking a lot of struggles help you to be a better person. So that the Education very important to me.

Is your teaching degree related to Islam? If so its going to benefit your deen, you will teach others about your deen, what could be more rewarding?
Even if your degree is not related to Islamic studies, nothing stops you from balancing your deen and studies at the same time. I know of one person who studied a degree, left halfway through to get married, went back to her degree while she had a child to raise, she now works full time, and to top it all up, she is the most religious person i know , a full time niqaabi.
There's nothing to say why you cant do the same, ur not married I'm assuming. Most universities have a prayer room, I used to pray in uni.
Getting your degree does not have to compromise with your deen, lots of people work and practice Islam at the same time and they have to find the time for their deen just as they have to find the time to look after their family, its a responsibility every practicing Muslim has to shoulder.

As a teacher sister you would be doing something for your Deen would you not? I think it is a very important job and you could bring many benefits. Knowledge is power.
One must study to know,
know to understand and understand to judge.
Your parents simply want you to have the best start in life. A degree cannot be taken away from you and i know it seems to take up all your time now but trust me it will all be over before you know it. Insha Allah you find the answers your looking for sister :)

It was not critical to the financial success of Mr. Bill Gates, however, he was an exceptional human being. He had a passion and working knowledge of computers since he was in high school.
There isn't anything wrong with getting life experience and then going back to get an education, however, I've known several people who went directly to work and never earned a degree. Now they have families and a busy work life in a corporate environment. They are now unqualified for promotion because they do not have a degree.
They do not have time to go back to school and work at the same time. If they do, it will take them 10 years of stress to finish. Instead, they opt to have time with their families and work in a less responsible position.
I suggest that you take advantage of starting an education within the next few years rather than wait too long. An education will help prepare you for communicating and relating successfully with other people.

Education is very important, as the others said, sis. I agree with the person who said knowledge is power, it truly is. Knowledge is something that may definitely, inshaAllah, benefit your Deen. You should take advantage of your education now. InshaAllah you'll make the best decision.
Peace and best wishes!

Ninja, yes education is important. It is an investment. Why does learning about religion have to stop you from education? You can do both.
You do not know what tomorrow brings. You do not know that you will get married to a good man. You do not know how long your parents will last etc.
My sister is one such person who had bad marriages and had to support herself. Having an education is a weapon against such hardships. Please do not give up
and please do not hate something (what your parents are telling you - getting an education) which might be good for you. And in this case, they are right.

Wow. I cant even believe the question, ofcourse education is important, and there are a lot of hijab wearing muslim sisters that are pursuing their education. when are we going to realize that God didn't put us here to be outcasts? when would people stop using Islam as an excuss for lack of education? there is nothing wrong with knowing the Quran and the text book.

You can give benefit for your Deen by gain high education.
If Muslims only learn about religion, then science and technology are owned by non Muslim, our life will be in their hands.
Maintain balance is to always purifying your niyat, you learn everything only for Allah, and will dedicate your knowledge for Islam and Ummah.

Salaam Alaykum,
I am afraid I don't understand. Unless you plan on getting married and dedicating your life to Islamic studies...your worldly education is important to the Ummah and to yourself.
Pace yourself dear...you are only human. Lot's of Muslim girls
are getting their graduate degrees in areas like medicine
and science..find these young Muslim women doing both and
get some insight on how they do it and Good Luck.
