Hey, my bf starts on Monday with A-school in Chicago. He told me that the real schoolstuff starts at 26th. So why do they have to stay 2 weeks without having class? Could he come home for the next 2 weeks? He is in a hotel over the weekend, nect to the school and has no idea whats going on.
Other question: Is the curfew also on weekend or just during the week?
Thanks so much.
OH... :D Are they off during christmas-time??

no he may NOT come home prior to A school starting. he will be in holding instead.

ALL A schools shut down for the two weeks between Christmas and New years, however, he must pay for his own ticket home and he may end up in the hole for leave.

he will be in Phases. the first pahse he may NOT leave the base at all. the second phase he may leave but not wear civilian clothes and must be back by 9 pm every evening. Later phases include being able to wear civilian clothes and not having to be in the barracks on the weekends.

I assume he is in Great Lakes, not Chicago. And I don't think he is spending two weeks at the Navy Lodge, but is in a barracks for general assignment personnel until his "A" school starts. There is a scholastic break over the holidays, but the students remain in their assignment since most have not accumulated enough leave credits as yet to take leave.
It isn't a "curfew". Students normally get liberty about every other weekend and every other Wednesday. They are permitted to leave the base on those occasions.

Hes probably on 2 weeks vacation, or leave time, before school starts. Im thinking he just finished basic training.
