As a War 2 Korea Vet. I feel a lot of people are missing the boat with the honor to the dead and or the living. Please don't misunderstand. They deserve all the credit they can get, particularly, the dead, and the ones who actuallyy were in combat, But my question is, whatabout the poor devils that came home in wheel chairs, legs missing, arms missing, sight or hearing gone. Does not really matter what, does it, They in my mind are the real heroes to be saluted Yes, in my mind I have two honorable discharges, from the Marines and the Navy, But my hat is off to those that are left as shells and we ignore.

When our Vietnam "hero's" came home, we American's not only ignored them, we spat on them. We called them "baby killers" and hated them. How could they kill little boys and girls?!? Just because those little boys and girls had bombs strapped to their torso's and came running at their troups should we have killed them? Are they still spat upon now?...or, are they now hero's?

Were the Korean Vets hero's when they came home from war, or were they spat upon? Was that war a war, or was it a conflict?

Were the WWII vets hero's, or were they ignored? Every war or every conflict had to be handled in a different manner.

Right now, our veterans are in Veterans Homes. And, you know what? It doesn't matter if they were in WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, or what war or conflict they were in because they all have something wrong with them and that's why they are there getting the care they need.

Veterans Day, Memorial Day? Yes! It doesn't matter if they are alive or if they are dead. Honor our fallen whether they are alive or they are dead. If you have served but one day in our great military...you deserve to be honored! You have fought for our great country! If you have lived or you have died, it does not matter! You have served and that, to me, makes you honorable! My hand over my heart - as truer words were never spoken - God Bless America. She is Free, because of people who have served in Her military. Thank You. And, thanks to every single person past, present, and future.

What exactly is the question here?

Memorial day is the day we honor those veterans who have passed on. That is why I carry the US Flag through the local cemetery at the funeral march (of course I am in formation with my fellow American legion member)

Veterans day is a celebration of those veterans who are still here today. You don't hear any Taps being played today or tomorrow.

So I guess we are honoring those who have been wounded , again I just don't see your question.

To all my fellow veterans, Thank you for your service.
