First before you say you like him, get to know him more. It sounds like you're rushing into this too fast. All you probably talk to him about school is little things and not that much. Get his number and hang out with him a few times. He might be totally weird outside of school. After you've decided you still like him, casually flirt. Laugh at his jokes(but not cheezy like), sit close to him, etc. He'll catch on if you're good at flirting. If not, then just tell him not in school though. Hopefully he feels the same way.

For your first year anniversary you can create a collage of all the things you guys have done through out the year. You can write him a letter expressing your feelings and how you feel about him. A romantic dinner will always work when celebrating an anniversary! Or for more of a fun day- GO to an amusement park and just do fun active things like a picnic at the park then play soccer

I know it's traditional for guys to make the first move, but you may have to make the first move, because we guys don't know how to take hints...you have to tell us.
Just flat out tell him. Don't beat around the bush, but don't blindside him with it either. As a former geek, let me just say that whatever his answer is, it's not the end of the world. There's a 50% chance of not making that free throw (in basketball), but there's 100% chance of not making it if you don't try at all.

Their is no other way than to just tell him, hinting is so 3rd. grade, you can say something like>>> I noticed we like a lot of the same things, and I find you really interesting and fun to be around, why don't we hang out sometime? If he likes you too he will jump at the chance, he is probably shy too. Good luck.

Flirt with him a lot. Jokingly make comments relative to how you feel, or chat about hypothetical things/situations (but relative) etc....and when the door opens ...take the opportunity to enter gracefully!

Always smile when you see him. Tell a friend you have in common. Treat him with respect. Sooner or later, you'll get over your shyness.

When he says something, look him in the eye, or touch his arm, or lean close to him. He'll get it. If all else fails, get your girl friend to just tell him.

flirt alot with him and then maybe he'll get the idea that you like him, if that doesn't work ask a trustable friend to help you out.
