You can drink low / no calorie liquids, or you can drink seriously high calorie liquids! If you drink 5 2L bottles of Coca-Cola each day, you most likely would gain weight!
If you drink only water or diet soda, you would lose. The amount of weight loss would depend on your starting weight, and your activity level. The problem with a plan like this is it puts your body into starvation mode, where it tries to conserve as much as possible! When you go back to eating a normal diet, your body will still be in that mode, and you will gain everything you lose back and more.
It really is a bad idea!!!

Depends what is in the liquids, as per number of calories!
Liquid diet is not harmful at all... as long as you are getting the required number of nutrients. Problem is that many liquid diets have low protein and too many carbs.
If you have protein shakes and avoid sugar, you can lose a fair amount of weight.. all depends on the number of calories ingested.
If you drink 6 ice-cream milkshakes a day and call that a liquid diet, you may gain weight!

okay my son just got off a puree diet (from surgery) he was on it for 4 weeks and then soft diet for 2 more (nothing that could stick to roof of mouth or poke him so not all traditional soft foods apply even no pasta but noodle soup was okay) 10/23 so he lost 5 lbs but he only weighed 40. I asked if that was a lot and they said he had it to lose anyway he has gained 2 of it back since then. I went on the diet as well I cheated though some when I was out I thought I lost but now I am bigger than I was before probably because we ate so well when he got off of the diet. It shrinks your stomach making you full faster when you do resume normal eating. Oh as far as being unhealthy there are so many recipes for puree diets to keep you balanced Idk if it is unhealthy. There are protein powders and if you use veges and fruits and peanut butter. We mixed up pbj crackers for him with milk and some other things sometimes, he loved it. Also make sure you take a multivitamin this may make you hungry but you'll need it. I like One a Day all day energy.
Instead just try doubling your fruits and veges, drink 8 glasses of water a day, cut out red meat, eat only whole grain breads, cereals and pastas, and beans and rice. Oh if you crave something sweet drink a glass of skim milk flavored with chocolate a lot of the drink mixes actually are not that bad on calories. Warning you will be in the bathroom a lot and not to sound tasteless but the gas is bad too. This diet will work though
Good Luck

You might lose like 5-10 pounds but as soon as you start eating again, you'll gain it right back. You're body will know that it is being starved and as soon as food enters again, you're body will store it away and you may end up gaining more fat this way. Not to mention the fact that you will bloat from water weight and your body's defenses trying to make up for lack of nutrients. If you really need to lose weight fast, this is the worst way to do it, always include solid food in your diet.

It depends on what those liquids are.
Look up a book called"Idiots Guide to Fasting".
This should be a good source for you.
