I know that when you join the Air Force, at MEPS you choose five jobs that interest you, and the Air Force chooses the job for you based on qualifications and the needs of the Air Force. What I want to know is, how long after MEPS will it be before I know what MOS I've been assigned from my choices?

You can get an assigned job at MEPS. You don't have to do the whole 5 job thing. If you do it could take a couple days or a couple months depending on when something opens up.

I don't agree with the military spouse, she has never been to MEPS. I would wear something that is comfortable, like a swet top and shorts. jeans are fine. Your ASVAD scores have to qualify you for the MOS you were slotted for or you will be given another list of possible MOS's.

If you go "open, general", you should find out in your fifth week of basic. Don't worry, you really won't have that much time to think about your future job anyway. If I were you, I would definitely go in with a guaranteed job. BTW, what were your choices?
