I put a whole chicken in the crockpot, plugged it in, turned it on, and I know the pot had gotten hot. Somehow it must have been bumped because it came unplugged and when I noticed it, 3 hours had passed since turned on and it was still raw and unplugged. Is it safe to eat?? It had a plastic wrap around it besides being in the pot.

No! You have no idea how long it was cooking, why put it to chance?

If it was still raw, of course it wouldn't be safe to eat. If it had been unplugged and sitting there a few hours, any small amount of bacteria that might have grown in that time would be killed when the food was cooked properly, and it would be perfectly safe to eat.

How long does cooked hen final exterior of the refrigerator? answer If it is totally warm, any left over hen or turkey would desire to be refrigerated on the instant. in case you house is cool merely depart it out till that's heat. have faith it or not it is not consistently the superb element to place a warm hen in a funky refrigerator. i'm fairly fussy throughout the time of the summer season so if I actual have potato salad, any salads with mayonnaise in it or bitter cream, hen or any meat (additionally seafood) I serve my seafood on a mattress of ice; as quickly as my travelers have filled up their plates I take all that nutrition and positioned it returned interior the refrigerator and then haul it out returned for seconds. you may in no way be too careful. answer Repeat after me. Any nutrition would desire to be unrefrigerated not greater effective than 3-4 hours complete in the time of it is existence. on account that some unrefrigerated time is unavoidable in the time of processing and transportation, you will desire to in no way eat something that's been unrefrigerated greater effective than an hour. (that's genuine basically for ingredients containing protein, even though it merely takes a tiny volume of hen to drop into the rice to infect the entire, so use the rule of thumb for each thing.) additionally, policies approximately letting a nutrition come to 'room temperature' till now refrigerating have been devised in previous many years, while fridges weren't as effective as they at the instant are. no rely how warm a nutrition is, refrigerate it! believe me, it is much less puzzling to discard some leftovers than to bypass by way of a real lavatory-hugging, abdomen-pumping bout of nutrition poisoning.
