WoW! I am so glad that you asked this question. The bible is clear-Black and white-that women are equal in respect to the world. But yes the roles are different in this planet. We give birth and the Men are physically stronger. The Bible times that it was written for declares women in a upright manner, in a beautiful manner. God would talk about Israel like a woman. If you read it based on these days it doesn't seem that way women didn't deal with Starbucks or Cars! IT was a different era, and it was written based on the culture back in the day. However even though the times were different, the message is the same, women should be regarded with equal respect. No where is it in scripture that women should be disrespected and not taken into consideration. Now about the women that weren't allowed to speak in church, was about the women who would interrupt the message that was given during the service. The women would ask questions, while Paul was giving the word. HUSBANDS have to respect their WIVES, and husbands have to respect there WIVES as JESUS loves his WIFE, The church. MEN-give it up. Jesus is asking you to submit to him as he wants your wife's to submit to you. Don't forget your role in the marriage. Please Re-read your bible.

The Bible teaches that men and women are equal in God's sight as far as salvation goes but it also teaches that God has ordained specific roles for men and women.

For instance, a man cannot bear a child and so that is a role that only a woman can fill. Just like Jesus is not less than his Father neither does it make a man "less" than a woman just because he cannot fulfill the role of child bearing.

In the same way God has also ordained that men be the leaders and women be the helpers. It doesn't mean that men are smarter or better than women, it has to do with the order that God has established.

Genesis 2:18 Then the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him."

1 Peter 3:5 For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their husbands, 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.

7 Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

No, I don't agree. However, alot of scripture has been taken out of context when it comes to our (womens) role in the church. But the bible does say that wives must submit to their husbands, and that the man does have the authority in the house hold. BUT having said that, this does not mean that men have the right to abuse this authority, the Bible also says for husbands to treat their wives like Jesus would treat the church.

So to answer your question... scripturally, men are technically over the women. But this doesn't include having the presence of God or forgiveness, etc... We are all equal when it comes to forgiveness and our relationship with God...

“Equality between women and men means equality in their dignity and worth as human beings as well as equality in their rights, opportunities and responsibilities.” It is true that women throughout the world have suffered considerable oppression and discrimination. Because selfishness, greed, lust for power and other things that cause deplorable world conditions are as much a part of women as of men. Since all humans are imperfect, merely juggling certain responsibilities from one segment (the males) to another (the females) would produce no real improvement.

Since both men and women are equally imperfect, all types of human government, even female monarchies, have failed to solve world problems. (Jer. 10:23) The only true solution, therefore, is in God’s arrangements for eliminating human imperfection and replacing human rule of the earth by a perfect heavenly administration. (Dan. 2:44; Isa. 33:24)

No way. For most of the Bible, women are property. They also don't have nearly the same rights as men do. However, there are a few surprising exceptions. For example, Deborah judged Israel for a while, and even went with the men to battle (although it doesn't say that she fought in the battle).

No. The bible portrays women as being worth less than cows. It also blames women for the sins of the world all the way back to Eve. Even though Adam was also with Lilith

The bible says women are to be submissive to their husbands as they are head of the household, the husband is supposed to be submissive to God, so to answer your question... no, the bible does not teach that women are equal to men, we are considered beneath them in the order of things. In biblical times women were considered property and could be traded as freely as cattle and a man could have more than one. Many had concubines, I would hardly call that treating women as equals.

Absolutely not. The Bible clearly teaches the exact opposite. According to Paul, women aren't even suppose to speak in a church.

Well if you look at judgment day all will be judged the same. I don't know if equal is the word I would use. They both had completely separate roles to compare the two would be saying that one would be more important than the other. So I would say equal in importance.
