all other things?

The JWs say this passage proves that Jesus is a creature, the " first-created." They argue that Jesus is the eldest in Jehovah's family of sons ( Reasoning from Scriptures, 1989, 408 )

Know that NWT subtly changes Col 1:16-17 so that it seems the first-created Christ was used by the Father to create all other things in the universe: " By means of him ( other) things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All ( Other ) things have been created through him and for him. Also, he is before all ( other ) things and my means of him all ( other ) things were made to exist " ( bracketed words from the translation )

" Thus he is shown to be a created being, part of the creation produced by God" ( Reasoning from the Scriptures 1989, page 409 )

NASB " and He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation"

Actually the word first-born there just means preeminent. In an analytical Greek literal version of the Bible I use it says that word there means figuratively existing before. As in Jesus existed before all. The NWT is not a true translation of the Bible. It is a man made version specifically translated to support a non-Christian doctrine.

NO. Jesus is not the first created. Jesus in the Spirit is the very essence of God . See also Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead( God's Divinity) bodily.

According to the WTB&TS the word "firstborn" is "first created" because it bolsters the false theology that Jesus is a created thing.

Both John 1:1 and John 1:14 state that Jesus was the Word and that the Word became flesh. Therefore Jesus is not just some created thing.

This is another example of the heresy that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society perpetuates.

Even CARM stumbles on this in that they hedge by saying or impling "firstborn" is a "transferable" title that is deeded to Jesus.

In the Old Testament there are first borns that lost the statis of firstborn through sin or rejecting God's gift. Jesus never lost anything.

Jesus not being the first born but first created is another variation of satanic teachings some of which include the adversary was firstborn or equal to Jesus.

Hats off to the WTB&TS for teaching such trash that should not be slop for pigs.

Jesus is the very Spirit of God made flesh, Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 makes this clear. Jesus is Emmanuel(God with us)
_______
By the way above answerer better go back and plug it is as it is meant in Revelation 3:14.

Strong's G746 ἀρχή - the person or thing that commences
Strong's G2937 κτίσις - the act of creating, creation

"creation" refers to the "actions" by the Word, by Jesus, NOT as a "created being". Study a little harder and pray the deception is lifted. John 1:1 & Genesis 1:1

Firstborn means a lot more than preeminent as used in English this is Superior or Greatest.

Colossians 1:18, "And he is the head of the body, the church:::: who is the beginning, THE FIRSTBORN FROM THE DEAD; that in all things he might have the preeminence".

He was the first raised from the dead unto eternal life. Yes, the Word became flesh, and the Word is the body of God who sits upon the throne, but God is a spirit and is everywhere present and nowhere absent. Jesus is God's body.

Colossians 1:14-15
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of every creature (first in rank over every creature)

The invisible God is the first-born of every creature.

God is Jesus and the Holy Spirit. God also called Jesus the Branch. The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of God because God is Spirit and a consuming fire. The only way to see God is seeing Jesus. Jesus said I do what I see the Father doing.
All three are One.

We can't make God just a man and nothing else, because God is far greater than that.

And, Yes, God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit all Three were in the beginning and at creation.

Colosians 115 does not in any way signify that Jesus Christ was the first creature to be born, for the remainder of the passage states that He existed before all created things and that all things were created by Him. Theres no thought here of any origin---but supremacy!!! Like Exodus 4:12. Israel is called God's Firstborn. Israel was not the first nation to come into existence, neither was the first in line of nations which becomes God's nations. Also in Psalm 89:27, God says to David, making him God's firstborn--higher than the kings of the earth. But David was not born the first born in the family.

Also Revelation 3:14 say the same and God himself define firstborn as the first of the group in Exodus 13:1.

Revelation 3:14 "And to the angel of the congregation in La·o·di·ce´a write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God"

Exodus 13:1 "And Jehovah spoke further to Moses, saying: 2 “Sanctify to me every male firstborn that opens each womb among the sons of Israel, among men and beasts. It is mine.”

People that claim that firstborn is not the first of been created are telling that God told a lie cause he gave the definition 3500 years ago.

By the way " we only believe in one true God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit is 1x1x1= 1. One true God"

WHERE IS THAT Mathematical rule in the bible according to that that is called Neutral Element of multiplication Jesus and God are Neutral element , so they are the same but Jesus says the opposite in John 14:28.

All original scripture texts call Christ the Son of God, not created of God. The Jehovah's Witnesses changed the meaning to suit them selves.

6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.

Thayers dictionary defines firstborn as
1. first in time or place
1a) in any succession of things or persons
2) first in rank
2a) influence, honour
2b) chief
2c) principal
3) first, at the first

So Jesus is the “first in time AND first in rank (chief)” of every creature.
How do we understand this?

Example :

This one, is the firstborn of every cows. What is “this one”? The firstborn, “this one”, is also a cow.

This one, is the firstborn of every creature ? What/who is this one? The firstborn, “this one” is also a creature.
