http://www.paulspastry.com/ is a prime example. they have been a small ppastry shop in picayune mississippi that is a local hotspot for kingcakes for Mardi Gras. once they started their online business the viral effect took over and expanded their sales and staff during mardi gras to over 4 times the normal ofline sales. this is with little overhead, advertising and other miss cost that naturaly comes with brick and mortar only business. this meand their profit margins are much higher because of lower ad cost, and the viral effect.

Another business is http://www.localrestoration.com it is a water and mold damage restoration company that is New york based. It now has a huge online presence and now does over 1.5 mil per month in national sales( and it did this in less than 6 months). compared to the 75k per month brick and mortar sales it was used to on a local level with minimum in cost to produce this revenue.

As the population becomes more internet savy, the retailers must convert and add online sales to stay ahead of the competition or to add additional revenue or expansion revenue.
