Is there any way to prevent someone from breaking into your room (by using a credit card). Is there something I can put on my door so it will not open when someone tries this?

Ok you live with Mom and dad and you have a lock on the door and umm who is breaking in with a credit card?
I mean if it is Mom and dad's home unless you are an adult paying rent Sorry they have every right to be up in there and if in fact you dislike that get your own place.
That said There are locks you can buy that will not allow people to use the credit card method to pick the locks

I comprehend what you're asking. What you describe is elementary and is between the numerous techniques a thief gets in. I took the precaution of setting up my lock-set backwards, works ok. Works so nicely I had to get rid of a window after locking myself out sooner or later. additionally, my strike plate is a lot thicker than are those coated with the lock-instruments obtainable over the counter (no longer happy with the single offered so I made my own from 2 brass belt buckles, a lot extra significant and covers the lock bolt completely). Too, my door shuts against a length of board glued and screwed to the door physique. want in? paintings for it! Kick it in? you will harm your self first. The mastercard trick relies upon upon the area between the door and strike plate to enable the cardboard to paintings by utilising pushing against the nubbin as you observed because it. do away with that little area and you do away with mastercard tricks, turn the lock-set backwards and a mastercard won't paintings anymore the two. check out the different doorways on shops in the better danger neighborhoods to work out the techniques in use. some are fantastically imaginitive yet so user-friendly. a number of those techniques are fantastically stout too, takes slightly extra advantageous than a mastercard to get in.

Modern door locks are not susceptible to this method. Modern door latches have two pins. When the smaller pin is partially depressed, you cannot push in the larger pin.

If they want in then they are going to get in. Weather it is with a Credit Crad or by breaking in your door. What if they break in your windows? Ever think about that one?? If you are that paranoid go back home and live with mommy and daddy

Who are you tring to lock out of your room? I hope it isn't your parents. No child of mine is going to lock me out of a room in my own home. If it is a sibling, talk to your parents about it and see what they can do.

A deadbolt is very secure. Talk to a locksmith if you need to have one installed.
