cigars for my boyfriend and we are waiting on his humidor... has yet to arrive.

Without being in a humidor most cigars you will get a couple of hours before a true aficionado will notice a difference but really it mattes on the environmental factors. One away of keeping them without a humidor is to get a big plastic baggie, and place inside it a well rung out paper towel (use cold water) in a dish and then place the dish inside the plastic baggie. Place the cigars inside the baggie being careful not to touch the paper towel and then zip it shut. This will work very temporary.

take a mason jar and put a moist piece of cork in the bottom then put in the cigars and screw the lid back on..its not top notch but its better than nothing. real cigar smokers will use a cedar jewelry box and cork..as for time out, they can dry out quickly in an arid environment.
