IN New York, the number has grown. People just smoke outside, or some have added smoking rooms. Seems like the smoking ban has brought out more non-smoking drinkers than anything else. At least here in the center of the universe.

Definitely slightly down over all and a lot down in clubs. Why couldn't they have brought in a regulation about air purifiers. How is it healthier for me (a non smoker) to have to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke to get into any building these days?

Every city street reeks of nicotine as well. I have no issue with smokers but this was not the sensible option!!

they seem to have it seems that a lot of people are just having one drink then home i don't smoke but my husband is a smoker so he sits outside i used to go to the pub with him but i don't want to sit outside i want a nice cosy pub a good old English pub the kind that's been going for centuries like everything nowadays we are having our choice's taken away from us the choose should have been a smoking pub or non smoking pub you could then choose witch one u wanted to go to but we are no longer having freedom of speech what can we do our British ways are being smashed alas its no longer great Britain it a dictatorship run by the EU

The pubs in my area have provided outdoor heating, lighting and a covered seating area!

in my local the business has gone up 20%...hooray!! but the smokers now have a nice little clicky club in the courtyard which is always a laught to join for a moment!!

suppose it is a bit quieter but no-one seems to mind going out we have a nice smoking area at our local with heaters, most smokers i know don't mind going outside things might change when its chucking it down and gail force winds.

inside the pub yeah, outside the pub doorway no...lol...but dont you think it looks bad everyone stood like leppers in the doorway??
