Man can do nothing to effect something as massive as the climate. To think we can is foolish hubris.
The Sun is the source for all of the planets warmth and energy, and any variations in the Sun's output has effect on our climate.
It is the Sun, not man, that causes any and all warming on Earth.

There are a great number of reasons to seek alternative fuels, my understanding is that right now Brazil is an excellent example (ethanol from sugar cane). Energy independence and renewable energy is a critical need.
Stopping global warming may be impossible and recently with the founder of the weather channel saying 'it's a hoax' it maybe necessary to recognize that our calender is a system of measurement and is not perfect, leap year is due to the calender being slightly off and eventually it adds up.
We need to be able to adapt to environmental factors that are beyond our control...and that is most likely the greatest possible benefit to the Global Warming Movement.
In closing I would like to say there is definitely a 'Hype' element to global warming, it was exposed by CNN's "Planet in peril" a sinking island with inhabitants that don't want to move to Paraguay, living without electricity or phones or any abundance of technology and yet when asked what is happening to their island they are able to give a long dissertation on global warming.

I was jujst watching a show on BBC Newsworld which was interviewing major industry leaders on how their companies were managing to do something about Global Warming. A lot of it was as expected. But there was a guy from Hong Kong and he had been talking to various "big cheese" Chinese (as in mainland China) government (communist) types and their response was that they were looking forward to a 4 times increase in production with only twice the greenhouse gas emissions and weren't interested in debatting.
I have been told that China is building 2 coal burning electric plants a week in order to keep up with its apparently endless economic expansion and productivity gains.
My own opinion is that as we let China do "the heavy lifting" of economic production, the resulting increases of green house gas emissions will greatly increase. Apparently, China already produces as much green house gases as does the USA.
If China continues its advance in productivity (and thus fossil fuel consumption) it won't really matter if I fiddle with my thermostat or not.

Not going to happen. Global temperatures will eventually reach a level about 3 degrees Celsius above current levels. We would be best served if all the politicians and so called environmentalists would stop all the hand wringing and finger pointing and concentrate on getting ready for the inevitable.

I think that man does not have that much control over the weather. Otherwise, why was earth so much warmer in the past, as well as repeated ice ages covering a large parts of the northern hemisphere. What I think we should be doing is to cut pollution in all forms, use less, and use what we have for longer.

The Vostok ice core record shows that changes in atmospheric CO2 concentration have never preceded changes in temperature. They also show that temperatures plunge dramatically in the presence of elevated CO2 levels. Therefore, CO2 does not cause warming nor does it impede cooling.
The only mitigation technique that has been proposed is the reduction of CO2 emissions. Since CO2 has never caused warming nor impeded cooling, the only proposed mitigation technique cannot be effective.

This is subject of much controversy even among specialists. But I personally think that, at the very least, it's not just the man who is causing it and it is not in his hands to do much to prevent it.
Which doesn't mean we should be happy with China building 544 new coal-operated power stations, anyway...

With people that got opinions about helping or not helping with global warming, chances are that it won't be ended.

We can't prevent it or end it, at any reasonable cost. But what we can do is reduce it.
That will enable us to cope with the remaining effects. It won't be trivial, but it will be doable.
Here's a practical and affordable plan to do that. It was worked out by hundreds of scientists, engineers, and economists, working together.

I think the earth rights itself and changes every few years or so. I do not believe Global Warming is a reality, just A SCARE TACTIC BY LIBERAL POLITICIANS.
