I would say the same number as civilians. Somewhere between 1-100.

It all depends on the area where they live to be honest. There are some countries or areas of the US where the cops are paid extremely poorly and treated like crap, so in that situation maybe 1-5 will turn in the money. But then there are other places where cops are well paid and respected by the majority of the people (and just from reading the responses there are a couple here that don't respect them), there'd be a much higher percentage that would turn the money in.

So really, asking "100 cops" creates way too much of a generality to be answered correctly. Nice topic though :)

Are cops honest? Yes. At least they start off that way. The desire to become a cop is in itself noble. Without a doubt some will stray.

As for the million dollars, it is a loaded question. It would be hard for anyone to find that much cash, without questions being asked, and turn it in.

Stupid question, I bet out of a 100 cops and a 100 "other" workers, more of the 100 cops would turn in the cash than the other workers..

I would say 75 of them would turn it in. 25 would keep the cash. It seems like people on here forget that they are HUMAN!! Even cops have financial problems. Who wouldn't at least be tempted to keep a million dollars cash?

What about you?
If you find a bunch of neatly packed 20 dollar bills on the floor of a gas station (what a pleasure when this happens), if the you ask the gas station attendant and he says he has not heard anyone, are you going to put it back on the floor or in your pocket?

They try to be honest like most people but don't exagerate the temptation.

I am sure at least a couple would, but just like everything else, you can't know until it happens. I would say that there are a lot of cops out there that are not as honest as they should be, but there are probablly just as many that are.
