I wonder why the world is in the state it is, than I come on R&S, and I am astounded at how many christians condem others and even another for not believing precisely as they do. What happened to the rules of Patience, Consideration, and Understanding? Jesus was jewish, Mohammed was islamic, and even buddahism and aspects of native american beliefs have the same basis as all the rest. Don't condem what you don't know, have you considered one is not right but all, but than you condem a war you helped start? Practice what we preach, peace and brotherhood, and stop the hating. That is what is wrong with the world.

The Scripture is clear: " A scribe questioned Jesus: 'Which is the first of the commandments?' Jesus replied 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second commandment is this: You must love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.' " Mark 12:28-31. This has become known as the "Golden Rule."
I completely agree with you. Religious intolerance is a terrible thing. Christians should be able to dialogue in precisely the ways that you note. Because many of them don't it brings Christianity into disrepute. Spreading the Message does not mean beating people over the head with it; condemning others to hell for not believing, or being gay, or whatever other bugaboos they think up.
Not only have many forgotten the Commandment to love neighbour. They obviously have forgotten the Beatitudes where peacemaking and humility are praised.
I agree, hatred has no place in the heart of any religious person.
Thank you for your thoughtful post!

Christains are the biggest judgers of them all. Do you think an atheist cares? I believe in the New Age, I don't care what people believe but every christian will say I'm going to hell. Funny though, I've been saved since a teenager, so these oh holy ones have nothing to say about me!

What is wrong with the world is that they need Jesus.
Islam treaches hate not peace.
Jesus taught us to love our neighbor and love our enemies.
The religious freedom we have in America is the result of Bible believing Christians making the rules.
Don't you see the difference?
I do.

The principalities of this world hate the very name of Gods only begotten son" Jesus of Nazareth". They are jealous to have the adoration. God is most worthy to be glorified with Jesus of Nazareth.

You can't say all beliefs have the same basis and everyone is right. That cannot be true. That's poor logic.

Unfortunately, Christians think they have a mandate to condemn anything and everything they dont agree with. They think they are "called" to be the eyes and ears and the feet of Jesus and so that gives them the right to condemn others, to judge others and to enslave others all in the name of the lord god, or George Bush, which is really the same thing.
