I used to wonder this when the bible was being pushed down my throat as a kid. I don't believe in the bible anymore. But the old testament made me hate the christian god when I used to believe in him.
Why can the christian god break his own commandments?
And why does he expect us to follow them when he doesn't?

One example:
Thou shalt not kill.
Noah's ark and the flood.

I think you are trying to use feigned ignorance of Christianity as an excuse for your rebellion. Sorry, "the book made me do it" only shows you never took the time to know God personally.

And Exactly which Commandment Did God Break in Ur Judgmental Self Righteous Arrogance??? OBTW did we vote to make U God or something??? I don't remember it??? John Ok, sure after we answer Now U say God "Killed" the little Babies in the Flood thing AGAIN!!! This has been asked & answered at least a MILLION TIMES!!! What God did is KILL / EXECUTE AFTER JUDGMENT of the World at that time and MUST BE DISTINGUISHED FROM murder!!! Murder is the unlawful killing of one human being by another. Murder is generally distinguished from other forms of homicide by the elements of malice, aforethought, and the lack of justification. All jurisdictions, ancient and modern, consider it a most serious crime. Most jurisdictions impose a severe penalty for its commission. If U had bothered to read the Scriptures U would have Realized that "Fallen Angels" co-habitated with human women & animals creating an EVIL DEMONIC RACE IN AN ATTEMPT TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!! Next time ask a "Real Q." in order to "Learn", not to show Us Ur immaturity to ghallenge the Bible, K??? John

These are commandments for us, not God, but...

1. When has God worshipped another god or had another god before God?

2. When did God make a graven image?

3. When did God take God's own name in vain?

4. Did God fail to keep the Sabbath somehow? Would you know it if God did?

5. How can God honor parents God doesn't have?

6. Actually I have to wonder, did God kill people, or were they killed by their own choices. Besides, who is a human to snuff out a life God has made?

7. Was God ever married to commit adultery?

8. What is there for God to steal when God owns everything?

9. Has God ever lied on anyone?

10. God can be covetous of humans maybe, but I think God can be excused that one thing.

The commandments are not for God, they are for man. God cannot do evil, though he created it. God can only do good. Isaiah 45:7: "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." When God created man he could have made him a robot, but he did not. He made him a living, thinking being with freewill. The freewill to follow a commandment, or not. But the bible isn't written for God to learn how to live right, but for man. God is already right, he is God.

God does not change. There is a old testaments and a new testament because of the times. The old testament rules were the rules for that time. The new testament was the rules that God wanted for the time of Christ and after.
You seem very lost.
I would talk with your church's pastor and try and get some clarity.

You sound like a very confused person. I will say a prayer requesting that you find the comfort you so badly need. Read the Bible again but get some proper help whilst reading. It is not just one long rambling book.It is broken down into The begining ,history, law and eventually the story of Jesus.
God doesnot break his commandments, we do, we were given free will and guidance but many people do not accept this guidance at all.

His commandments don't apply to him, they apply to us. I have every right to put up a sign on my yard saying "don't walk on the grass" and then to walk on my own grass! I can tell others not to dump their trash on my land while simulatneously dumping my own trash on my land! Like it or not, the earth and everything on it belongs to God...he created it and it is his. He has every right to set rules for how others can use his property without limiting his own ability to do what he plans to do with that property!

Let's take one of the biggest examples of God supposedly breaking his own commandment. Yes, God chose to end the lives of everyone on earth starting over with just Noah and his family. However, you aren't in a position to judge that as an evil act because you don't know why he did it nor do you know what happened to those people after they died. Remember that God had infinite knowledge. Perhaps he knew that if he didn't start over with the only people that still acknowledged his existence and his authority that the world would be immeasurably worse than it is today.

Consider this analogy...a band of criminals has taken over your town...they kill at will, they sell drugs to children...or they even sell children, they cheat, steal and lie...they are completely without any redeeming characteristic. You're the mayor...do you just let these people continue to terrorize the town until everyone becomes like them out of a sense of self-preservation? Or do you do everything in your power to protect the "good" citizens of your town even if it means imprisioning or even killing these criminals? (I'm not necessarily saying capital punishment...gun battles with the police often result in dead criminals)!

You have no idea what motivated God's decision...perhaps he knew that if he allowed those people to continue populating the world that they would destroy it...I'd go so far as to say that it's quite possible you and I wouldn't even exist if God hadn't chosen to start over with Noah!

The simple fact is that if you hate God, you don't have a clue who he is. His love for his creation shines throughout the old and new testament but if you're too blinded by your own limited perception of the nature of his creation that it isn't surprising you only see the bad.

I guess it would first help us address this if you mentioned at what point God broke His own rules. I have read the Bible several times over and have no clue what you are talking about. Perhaps you misread something.

Tell me in what ways God broke His own comandments? You must supply actual scripture to prove your point.

Let me know what you are thinking of, I would love to look at these issues with you.
