I am currently a non-practicing Catholic, this question is to Jehova Witness? Is there an agreement that every scripture counts? I have been told by family, priests, and doctors alike who all claim to be Christain in one form or another that the existence of demons, demonic spirits and anthing related to an antichrist is nothing more than fan-faction. I am finding a common thread among many neo-non-denominational Christains who write books also that "How to imrpove you.....A Better you ect? Does not the scripture teach us we owe a thanks to God and it is not so much about getting promoted at work, or getting "more pleasure" but to spread the word..not the merely teach one how to gain physical and earthly wealth right? " Matthew 6:19 "Lay up not for yourselves treasures upon Earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through or steal; for wherever you treasure is your heart will be there also"

Modern society, in its pious wisdom backed by technology and science has reduced religion to a feel-good, self-help philosophy. Anything supernatural about God, Jesus, Heaven and Hell, Satan and his demons has been drowned out and forgotten.

The facts are that when we deal with religion, we are dealing with that very thing that has been there since before time and is with us now: the supernatual.

Satan and his demons DO exist. They ARE real. This is not spook-talk or superstition. If we acknowledge Jesus Christ and dare call ourselves Christian, then we must admit the core of why He came to die for us. We must admit His sacrifice was for no earthly reason, no trial or hardship with this life. He came to save us from our sins, because after this life, we will have to face a realm we've only seen thus far in our imaginations. That realm includes God, heaven, and Hell. Make no mistake.

Those who belittle and dismiss this have lost their foundations in the faith they claim to live by, and risk dire consequences because of it.

Ever read Hostage to the Devil by Fr. Malachi Martin? I did. It recounts in vivid detail the exorisms of 5 people. It was hard to read, in that it was disturbing, unsettling. However, I recommend it highly.

I will say that if you're studying with and/or interested in becoming a JW, you need to rethink it. I am an ex-JW who is now Catholic. There are things about them that you will not be told upfront, things that will prove to be harmful as they were and still are to me.

Thanks for your question. Write anytime.

I have been studying for a few months. See if I can help you .. Satan is an angel from heavan that came down and tempted Adam and Eve as a serpant. Which led to Eve eating the forbidden fruit and then the start of all things bad in the world. Satan is still on earth. He is the one leading us to do things not so good here on earth. Such as adultary, war, etc. Read the bible it is the all knowning book for anyone no matter what religion you are. Jehovah is God. Just like I might be wife but my name is Lissa. Jehovah created arch angel Michael which on earth is known as Jesus. Jesus was sent down to show us an example of what Jehovah wanted things here on earth. However most people chose to follow Satan vs. what Jehovah wants. Hence why there is so much greed, hate, etc in the world. I hope this helps. As I said before I am just studying so I am no expert by no means. go to the Watchtower site and ask for someone to come to your home and talk. That is all they want to do is share the word of the bible which is the same no matter if you are Lutheran, Catholic, or Methodist. If you are from USA, Africa, South America, etc. It is all the same.

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

It doesn't say, some scriptures are more important than others.

The Idea that 'if you serve God' he will bless you with a comfortable lifestyle means that if you serve God and you don't have a comfortable lifestyle, then God isn't blessing you.

This we know is wrong:

James 1:9 But let the lowly brother exult over his exaltation, 10 and the rich one over his humiliation, because like a flower of the vegetation he will pass away. 11 For the sun rises with its burning heat and withers the vegetation, and its flower drops off and the beauty of its outward appearance perishes. So, too, the rich man will fade away in his ways of life.

12 Happy is the man that keeps on enduring trial, because on becoming approved he will receive the crown of life, which Jehovah promised to those who continue loving him.

Jesus promised that Christians will be tested, and persecuted. He didn't promise Christians that they will have a life of easy.

We become rich spiritually, not materially.

Are there Demons? Yes.

What is the greatest thing a person can do to serve God?

Preach the Good News of the Kingdom.

In favorable and troublesome seasons

2 Tim 4:1 I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is destined to judge the living and the dead, and by his manifestation and his kingdom, 2 preach the word, be at it urgently in favorable season, in troublesome season, reprove, reprimand, exhort, with all long-suffering and [art of] teaching. 3 For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. 5 You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do [the] work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It's a common error to argue that demon activity stopped with the finalisation of the Scriptural canon (councils of Hippo in 393CE and Carthage in 397 CE) and therefore the gifts of the Holy Spirit, with their means of dealing with demons (discernment and casting out) are no longer needed. This is a dispensational view (a religious ministry or activity lasting for a fixed period). The scripture quoted is 1 Cor.13 (NASV); '... love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect (or complete) comes, the partial will be done away'. It's argued that the perfect or complete came with the establishment of the Scriptural canon. However, the perfect (or complete) does not refer to the Scriptural canon. It can be seen from verse 12 (For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known) that the only way the perfect (or complete) comes is when we know fully - which will only happen when face to face in heaven with Christ.

nicely the comparable way that we've a private call and could elect to be stated as by employing our call rather of guy, female, Boy & so forth is the comparable way that God feels. Psalms 80 3:18 says "would human beings be responsive to which you, whose call is Jehovah,You on my own are the main severe over all the earth." the certainty that his call is stated interior the Bible shows God needs his call to be standard & for the reason that we are his witnesses or followers, we are stated as Jehovah's Witnesses.

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I am not sure I understand your question.
You are asking whether demons and demonic forces exist?

Yes.

Getting promoted at work or getting more pleasure are NOT the most important things in life, seeking first the Kingdom of God and doing God's will is.

Yeah- Matthew 6:19 says it well.

I'm not a Jehovah's Witness, but the bible does speak of devils, the anti-Christ, and spirtiual warfare, so who are these people to say it's fiction? They're denouncing God's word.

And yes, the bible does tell you to store your treasures in Heaven. You hit the nail on the head. There's a whole new breed of "feel good Chriistians" out there who want to get to Heaven on their own terms.

Yes, it is so that a true Christian cannot ignore any bible principle.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

The Gospels actually record conversations between Jesus and different demons (including "Legion"). A person who denies the existence of demons would seem to deny the bible record, and Jesus' life and ministry.

(Mark 5:7-9) [The demon-possessed man] said: “What have I to do with you, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I put you under oath by God not to torment me.” For [Jesus] had been telling it: “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit.” But [Jesus] began to ask him: “What is your name?” And he said to him: “My name is Legion, because there are many of us.”

Christianity and true worship do benefit the adherent, but personal advantage is certainly not a Christian's intended goal.

(Matthew 16:24) Jesus said to his disciples: “If anyone wants to come after me, let him disown himself and pick up his torture stake and continually follow me.
