The car is a little bit slipery on the upshift, is that a sign for the transmission to be changed or hopefully only its oil....what are the signs if the transmission needs to be changed? The car has done only 67,000miles and its a production of 1995...if the oil needs to be changed every 50,000 as i read before then i am hoping the transmission is still ok ....

Please do not think fresh oil will make up for 13 years of neglect Automatic transmission in the Pathfinder will not like fresh fluid but you have to change it to see. Clutch packs have worn down cars with lots of years and low miles have to be shifting a lot. Around town operation and no time for maintenance. Please the next Nissan remanufactured trans and new radatior please change fluid every 3 years or 30,000 miles. Radatior has an oil cooler that becomes contaimanated clogged needs to be replaced or routed around with an oil cooler ahead of the radatior added.

Nonsense.Flush the trany always good because in this process you will take 100% old fluid out(including from torque converter). To replace filter never going to be bad also. But after all that I would strongly recomend to add Lucas Transmission Additive to it.Trany will shift like new.Guaranteed.

sounds like its due for serviceing mate.
Take it into a transsmission shop get them to replace the oil and filter which is inside the box and get them to check the adjustment on the TPS(throtle position sensor).

change the fluid and the filter but i do not suggest having it flushed as that can cause more problems than you already have
