Catholic, Christian, Methodist, Protestant and Atheist.

Well, Christianity is a wide range, and Catholicism and Protestantism are the two biggest BRANCHES within Christianity, East Orthodoxy as well. Methodist is a Protestant denomination, and Protestants date their history back to the reformation in the 1500s. The reformation was when people protested the Catholic Church for it's unbiblical and unfair practices. Catholicsm has a lot of error in doctrines and beliefs, such as praying to Saints, the Mother Mary, confessing sins to Priests, divinity of the Pope, etc. Methodism is a Protestant sect that broke away from the Church of England, another PROTESTANT Church that had many Catholic traditions. Atheism is the belief in no God at all. To read up more and to see more of the Protestant Churches look at my sources.

Christian is the blanket term used to describe either Catholic or Protestant. Protestant is the blanket term to describe all Christian denominations such as Baptist, Lutheran, or Methodist.

Now, Catholicism is different that Protestant because they believe that the Pope is the head of the Church. They also believe in Saints and that they Eucharist is the actual body and blood of Christ.

Protestants don't believe in all 73 books of the Bible, they don't believe that Mary was born without sin, they believe that there is no Limbo, and they believe that the Eucharist is only a symbol.

Methodist is just a Protestant denomination.

An Atheist is a person that believes that there is no God. That doesn't make them a bad person, though.

All Catholics are Christians -- but not all Christians are Catholics. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus -- who appointed Peter as the first church leader. The Popes represent an unbroken line of succession from Peter to Benedict.

All Protestants are Christians. No Protestants are Catholic, Orthodox or Mormons. Most other Christian religions are Protestants. Protestant religions are all man-made -- and splintered off from the Catholic Church. Most use a Bible that is identical to the Catholic Bible withthe exception that the Apochrypha has been left out.

Methodists are Protestants. The church was founded by John Wesley -- and was founded as a reaction to the Anglican Church -- which broke off from the Catholic Church.

Atheists believe there is no god.

Catholics, and Methodists ARE Christians. So your question should say Catholic Christians, Protestant Christians, and atheists.

Between Christian sects, not so much.

Well atheist doesn't believe in anything, all of The others are Christians. I don't know about Methodist but Protestants don't believe in the pope or that the Church is as powerful as the word of good, and Catholics do.

The fruits of Sola Scriptura...

"But when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will teach you all the truth. For He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He will hear he will speak, and the things that are to come He will declare to you." John 16:13

Most non-Catholic sects declare that the Holy Spirit is 'teaching' them the truth. However, there can be only one truth. Since the advent of Sola Scriptura and individual interpretation of Scripture, how can the Holy Spirit be in each of the thousands of sects, teaching all of them opposing viewpoints? It is to be noted that all of the following denominations teach from the same Bible, so why the differences in teaching?

1. How can the Holy Spirit tell the Lutherans the Eucharist is the true presence of Christ, and then tell the Baptists it is only a symbol?

2. How can the Holy Spirit tell the Methodists it is alright to have female ministers, and then tell the Baptists it is unbiblical?

3. How can the Holy Spirit tell the Seventh Day Adventists that Saturday is the day of worship, and then tell the Presbyterians the day of worship is Sunday and not Saturday?

4. How can the Holy Spirit tell the Lutherans that the Blessed Virgin Mary was and remains always virgin, and then tell the Baptists she had other children?

5. How can the Holy Spirit tell the Baptists, 'once saved always saved', and then tell the Church of Christ that Sola Fides is unscriptural?

6. How can the Holy Spirit tell Episcopalians to baptize infants and then tell Pentecostals infant baptism is invalid?

7. How can the Holy Spirit tell Mormons that the Holy Trinity is three separate persons, and then tell Methodists the Trinity is three persons in one GOD?

I could go on and on with the differences between non-Catholic sects, but I think you get the point. It takes only a minimum of common sense to realize that the Holy Spirit could not be speaking to each and everyone of those thousands of non-Catholic sects in the opposing ways of which I have sampled here. However, I was recently reminded that common sense is not so common anymore. It is easy to see that the 'fruits of Sola Scriptura' are not from GOD. There is no 'one fold and one shepherd' in Protestantism. Opposing teachings in these denominations is rampant, all caused by the false doctrine of Sola Scriptura and its accompanying 'individual interpretation' of Holy Scripture. Which, if any, of these sects is being taught all of the truth, as promised by Jesus Christ in John 16:13?

"And we are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom GOD has given to all who obey Him." Acts 5:32

Okay, GOD Himself has thrown down the gauntlet...TO ALL WHO OBEY HIM.
So who obeys the will of GOD? Is it the Lutherans who say the Holy Eucharist is the 'True Presence' of Jesus Christ incarnate, or is it the Baptists who say, 'It is only a symbol'?
Is it those who say we have to worship on Saturday or is it those who say worship on Sunday?
Is it those who say baptize infants or those who say not to?

It would take a 5 volume set to properly answer your question.

For the Roman Catholic today, their authority is the Pope.

For the Bible believing Christian / Protestant their authority is God's Word, the Bible.

United Methodists, the largest group of Methodists in the USA, claim on the surface to be Christians but in fact are one of the more liberal organizations claiming to be Christian.

United Methodists can believe anything they want to as long as its not the Bible.

Not all United Methodists are like that but most are.

I have a five page long Microsoft Word document, which contains a comparison between the Bible and the major teachings of the Roman Catholic Church annotated with Catechism reference numbers.

Its too large to copy and paste here.

I'll E-mail it to anyone who asks, but I'll need your regular E-mail address to do it.

Atheists claim there is no God.

Thank you,

There is nothing called Aryans and Dravidians. The concept of Dravidians was introduced by Bishop Caldwell, as just an another attempt to divide India. The concept of Aryans has also been now proved to be wrong now. According to the DNA test conducted by University of Michigan and University of Mysore it has been proved that all the Indians have the same ancestors irrespective of whether they are Hindus, Muslims or any other religion or they are in south India or North India or they say in any other Parts of India. Dravid is a Sanskrit word which means meeting point of 3 oceans and it was first time introduced by Adi Shankaracharya whereas Arya means gentle men and our country's original name is Aryavrat( As mentioned in Vedas) and therefore whoever are denizens of Aryavrat are Arya (and not Aryan).....this concept was falsely interpreted by the Britishers just as an another attempt to divide India in which they have been pretty successful. They knowingly misinterpreted the word dravid and said that the people in south India were originally dravidians while the north Indians were Impure Aryans who migrated from Europe whereas the Pure Aryans stayed in Europe. For further information one can refer Vedas which has nothing so called Aryan- Dravidian concept but rather Arya alone who lived in the land of Aryavrat.

Catholic: Lots of rituals.......praying to saints instead of just to God, praying to Mary......Having the priest perform many things that they believe the priest should do and not just anyone.........

Methodist: One of the most liberal churches........believe you are saved and they have very very little rituals .......they also accept the Masons from what I understand......

(Christian and Protestant describe all churches that believe Jesus is saviour and Lord)

Lutheran: One of the stricter protestant churches,,,,,,,closer to Catholic than any because they practice confirmation before allowing the Lords' Supper in most cases, recite the nicene and apostles creed, have a litergy, etc etc. They will take you off the membership rolls if you don't show up to church a lot.

Pentecostal or Foursquare and Assembly of God:. these churches all believe in the gifts of the spirit, casting out devils, etc, Laying hands on the sick........Everything in Mark 16 basically........and they believe in hearing from God personally and not through the pastor or priest alone.

Atheist: I guess some of them religiously go out of their way to disprove God and others are just neutral so you can't really categorize them.
