our dog is husky shepherd mix. he's about 9 yrs old. we got him from the spca about 6 yrs. ago and the vet said he was about 3 then.
he has been acting very lethargic. he is just laying around and sleeping A LOT. he won't get up and greet like normal. he looks very sad. i got him to drink a little water, he has no appitite. we took him to the vet yesterday, she felt of him all over, moved joints, etc. temp was normal. they took blood, but we won't get results til tomorrow :(
this has been going on for several days. he is an outside dog, so i haven't seen when he has gone poop. i think he has vomited some. any suggestions till i get blood results??

it's warm out so cold isn't an issue. we have to dogs, the other is a 4 month old husky. she can sense something is wrong, because she is bugging him like she normally does.

Your dog is definetly sick. A sudden change in behavoir is almost always illness in dogs. Make sure your dog is eating and drinking water until you here back from the vet. If I were you I would keep the dog inside where it is warm if you live in a cooler climate.
Hopefully this is an illness the vet can help you take care of. I hope your dog feels better!

Is there a chance he ingested something? I have a 2 year old chocolate lab and about a year ago he was acting the same way, was throwing up, not pooping and not acting like himself. We took him in to the vet on a Saturday and they felt his stomach and it wasn't bloated so they thought he just had an upset stomach then two days later it got worse. When we took him back they did an x-ray and found a foreign object in his intestines. It was a squeaker toy. He had to had surgery to remove it. $2500.00 two weeks before chirstmas! But he is worth every penny! Good luck!

Cottage cheese, nutrical (high calorie supplement), and wet foods. Also try some plain pedialiyte in his water to rehydrate. the nutrical comes in a tube,a nd he should get around 1" 3-4 times per day. this will spike his blood sugar and might even stimulate his appetite. the cottage cheese will help with upset stomache by getting good bacteria into his digestive tract. Good luck!!!

Yes - bring him inside. And take him out on a leash so you can see his waste as he elminates it. This way you can assess whether there is blood in the urine or stool.

Let him in the house - make a comfortable bed for him. If he's sick - he's not going to run all over hte house - he'll just lie there. So bring him in.

well if he refuses to eat i guess theres nothin you can do besides leave him some water and a nice warm cozy place to stay and help him feel as comfortable as possible such as lay with him pet him from time to time praise him for every effort he tries to eat or drink. until you get the results from the vet.

Maybe Lymes Disease if he's outside alot has he had all his vacinations? Maybe its something he ate like plastic or some raw hide stuck in his digestive system someplace you should look at his poop to make sure he doesnt have worms.

Maybe keep him inside where he is comfy and with your parents until tomorrow!

Maybe he has an infection or something more serios!

Hope for the best prepare for the worst.

Please don{t be scared its just a sign of ageing. Your dog will be okay as long as you keep him off table scraps
