Family being unfair about Iphone?

Lol my question sounds stupid but plz read :( So about a month ago i asked my dad if i could cange service providers, since he did give me the option. Even after a week he still said no. This was just so i could get the iphone- this is the uk one im talking about! Then my brother recently started to ask for the iphone, for xmas. My dad doesnt like the idea, but my mom doesnt mind buying it for him. The thing that aggravates me the most is that I said i would pay for it, and they were like hmm. i dont know. but with my brother, my mom is just going to buy it for him like a zombie. I feel really frustrated since I am always helping around the house, getting gd grades being responsible ect. My brother is kinda the opposite. He gets okayish grades, barley ever home, and often gets in fights with either one of my parents. Lastly, I always felt that my dad favoured me more, and my mom favoured my brother more. But my mom told me flat out that she thinks I am the better child! wats going on?!

forgot to add that i talked to my mom a few days ago, and she said that shes been re-thinking about getting him the iphone, that she'll only get it for him if he gets into a very good college!
ps. he gets a HUGE allowence, compared to mine, and i have more money saved up from my small allowance compared to his- what does that tell u!?

might i add that my brother is EXTREMELY manipulative- even my mother said it! and gosh the other day she was ranting about how mad at him she is, and then a few minutes later she went to go wake him up and she was all "honey? are you awake? how did u sleep?" it just really ticks me off! my dad is kind-of on my side with the whole "your mother can't get mad at your brother" my dad cant get mad at me, but can get mad at my brother, and vice-versa!!!

revsuzanne, in case you didnt bother to read my question, i live in london, so the bills for the iphone are hmm minium £35 which is about $70. which ahem i would pay myself like always. and one more thing! my brother is always getting new phones. I have a hand-me down from him, and my dad even said i could switch providers (i said that earlier) he just doesnt like 02...!

It's always when the naughty kid does good they get rewarded yet the one who is good throughout doesn't get a reward because it is expected that they are always good.

The bills for services for a loaded iPhone are still tremendous, and the phone itself isn't all that much to write home about. Your parents probably would balk at getting $400 cell phone bills every month from each of you.

I would suggest getting onto some IPhone forums and doing some research. You may discover that your regular cell phone will do fine until they work all the bugs out of it.

Your older brother will get "more favored status" for quite a while. Their goal is to get your brother equipped and out of their house. If you are pitching fits, you are demonstrating a lack of maturity. Go with the flow.

omg that happens to me too! i have a younger brother that's the opposite of me and i get good grades and everything but he doesn't. he pretty much does the same thing your brother does like argue with the parents and stuff. i think your parents want to buy him an iphone because they probably think if they did mayb he'll do better..it's kinda like their kissing a-s-s. since your already a good child i guess they don't feel like they need to get you something..i dunno it's weird..i hate having a job cuz since i have money they never buy me anything :[ i guess my advice to you is to talk to your parents about it...

ask your mom her reasons for not getting you the iphone. She probably has some pretty good ones.

Maybe they were planning on getting you one for Christmas, so they don't want you to buy it yourself!
