What if he hadn't died out?
Would you be singing, "Zeus bless America?" See how dumb it sounds...to me (to us?)? Its little more than contextual comedy.

It's all so silly and dangerous and utterly unnecessary.

God is nothing more than an old idea about power.

This population has injected huge quantities of doubt into the Christian "belief system," (and what a joke!), why not go on and doubt it all the way, the rest of the way? Your "mature moderation" looks more like the result of person who has been banged on the head than the result of one with a good intention, sorry. Look carefully at all the knobs you must constantly twist and turn to make it all work--ever seen a mixer-board for a rock band? All those knobs? This is today's "Christianity," huh?

"The majority" of human beings on this planet are being duped by ancient power stories.
However, there is way more than enough evidence now for everyone to stop believing in ALL of the old, dangerous stories.

We need to end this ancient, ridiculous tribal behavior--before it ends us...
Believing in things without any evidence whatsoever?--the one thing all Christians have in common with Osama BL.

Gotta hate the guy who says what he really feels? That's not fair.
I'm one of the good guys, the intention involves no magic and no condition with a thing a cannot know...

I would never be at an event where "God Bless America" is playing.

I sing "God Bless the World." "God Bless America" is so selfish, don't you think? Why should "God" only bless America? I say "God' bless all of humanity.

I'm patriotic so I it doesn't bother me. I never sing it though, because I make Rosanne Barr sound talented. But I love my country and if people want to sing about it that's fine with me.

Stand there. I wouldn't sing along even if it was a different song. Besides, I don't even know the words.

I just stand. Same with the pledge.

I used to say the Texas Pledge, until they changed it "one state under God"

I just sing along. I like to think of Nature and the laws of the cosmos as God.

I usually find patriotism more offensive than christianity, but there are also many things about both I admire.

I dont really give it much thought, it's just a song.
