This question has popped in my mind more than once. There are lots of Christian-themed songs from non-Christian bands out there and I was curious to know if any of you had any favorites.

Mine happens to be "Savin' Me" by Nickelback. The lyrics are incredibly powerful.

When Paul was in prison, his enemies were preaching the gospel in order to provoke Paul, since they were free but he wasn't.

Paul said that no matter what reason, the gospel was being preached, and that was good enough for him.

We could apply the same reasoning today. Christ is being preached. God can even use satan's own musicians, if needed.

Sometimes I may like the song, but find it almost hypocritical for a non-Christian to sing a song that they don't really believe or follow. I just usually pray that God will use that song to save them.

Carrie Underwood's song Jesus Take the Wheel is a very powerful song, but her lifestyle doesn't match what she says in the song. I don't think that anyone who really wants Jesus to be the center of their lives would choose to sing songs like Next Time He Cheats. I am downing Carrie Underwood. She has great talent, but as I mentioned above her lifestyle doesn't match what the songs says. I just pray that God would use the music that these people sing to reach their hearts.

I thought it was awesome how Billy Ray Cyrus once he became a born again believer took all his old music off the charts. They no longer are allowed to be played on the radio, especially the song Achy Breaky Heart. His album The Other Side was a great hit. I am glad that he got saved.

My prayer is that people who sing these songs would realize their sin and repent of it.

May God have all the glory.

at times i ought to easily like the music, yet discover it incredibly much hypocritical for a non-Christian to sing a music that they don't in all probability have self assurance or persist with. I only frequently pray that God will use that music to maintain them. Carrie Underwood's music Jesus Take the Wheel is important music, yet her existence form would not adventure what she says in the music. i don't think of that any one who incredibly needs Jesus to be the midsection of their lives might go with to sing songs like next Time He Cheats. i'm downing Carrie Underwood. I don't appreciate the song as much when the intent isn't really about God... i.e. the band is secular and hit on something that agrees with Christianity.
That's just me.

Oh sure. God gave us music and it is a powerful form of expression and art. You can appreciate music, no matter the genre or artist, even if it is not inherently Christian.
